Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did a 10 day bucket-list exploration of the Hudson River Valley; from Tarrytown to Albany.
We stayed in Hyde Park, and struck out each day; up and/or down, both sides of the River.
There is cornucopia of mansions, historic sites, museums, educational institutions, parks, overlooks, charming towns, tempting shops, even more tempting eateries, etc ; all framed, surrounded, beside, within, encompassed by.... some of the most beautiful natural scenery on the East coast.
And, with so much left to do, after this bucket-list experience; we hope to return again, before the bucket is kicked.

We ventured on the Hudson River Cruise recently and albeit a little disorganised at the outset did we not get a surprise by what this was all about.Having travelled a fair bit in my time I was expecting the serene cruise up and down the river with a bit of sightseeing but prior to setting off the host for the 90 Mimi cruise , who goes by the name of John took to the PA system . A few rules to go by and restrictions this guy delivered them with a firm tone in his voice , here we go I thought . Well I couldn't't have been more wrong and I began to understand why this guy set his stall out the way he did .John gave us a running commentary of all New York ,everything , where the Oreo biscuits originated to how many panes of glass on a building ,the speed in which he delivered , like a horse racing commentator , this guy was brilliant...I have never heard or seen and possibly never again witness that sort of knowledge or expertise.Having been round New York for 4 days prior to this it was just the icing on the cake , under the Brooklyn Bridge , all the history .... He knew everything you need to know ....superb .... This guy must add fantastic revenue to that company .... One of the best experiences of my life and that is saying something .

I visited the Hudson River this Saturday - it is 315 miles from the Adirondack mountains to the Atlantic Ocean - so I didn't get to see all of it. The views from the west side of Manhattan are beautiful and I have been on three boat rides this year - simply stunning!

Along the Hudson River from the Battery to 72nd St is a beautiful stretch of Park called Hudson River Park.I think completed especially from Chelsea Piers to 42nd street on the west side a few ys back.. I walked from 42nd St to Chelsea Piers and saw some of the most beautiful Green Park land today. Also there is a long path for bike riders skaters and runners next to the park. Do go there. You can walk around right to the water and see New Jersey straight accross.

Ah.... The Hudson River! Enjoy it your way, but go and do it! Like to walk or jog? There's the "walk over the Hudson" located in Highland, New York (atop a restructured railroad bridge), that also gets you a bonus breeze of fresh air 100's f feet above the river. Preferer a walk in the shade? Head over to the Nyack Beach Walkway, great to take a lovely stroll or easy hike at the river bed. Not interested in walking? Perhaps a drive on the new Tappan Zee bridge may do the job...…

My husband and I took the time out to walk from Times Square to the Hudson River. You can then follow a walkway for quite a distance. There are a couple of cafes and the ferry terminal along the way. Also some piers out on the water to take photos from. Well worth the the time away from the crowds.

We started at W 72nd Street and walked to 68th where we had a couple of beers at pier i cafe and spent some time people watching, then we headed south along the river walk, which has been beautifully landscaped and modelled with so many interesting places to stop and enjoy the views. Only complaint is that there was nowhere to get any refreshment between 68th and 42nd streets and it was a really hot day and we had not gone prepared for such a long walk (our fault). Made it to the Circle Line pier at 42nd Street and had a break there, disgusting toilet facilities, walked on fir a while, but we had to cut the journey short as we were too hot.
Definitely a walk worth doing but take food and drink for the journey.
