The camp hosts have undoubtedly changed since the 2012 review which criticized the hosts. It's a small campground, but facilities are great, the marsh walking trail is outstanding, and nearby Swansboro is fun to visit. Outer loop has the most privacy, but all sites I looked at are large and level.

We stayed here for for a few nights and it was perfect. The restrooms were spotless and the site was very roomy. The hosts were absolutely wonderful! We walked on the nearby trails, walked down to the shore of the river and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We'd return without hesitation.

Loved this forest. We were at the area near Emerald Isle, lower west side. The forest has very well manicured and groomed trails. The little walkways and bridges are very well taken care of. The forest is quiet, clean. The views of the marshes were amazing. We loved it!

We spent an evening at Oyster Point, and had a very positive experience. The camp was relatively empty, we visited on a Wednesday. There was one other camper and the camp host aside from ourselves. The envelope payment system was simple, and the host was very informative and inviting. We had our choice of campground and chose a site beside... More

We camped there this past weekend and it was great. Large and spread out campsite and nice facilities. It is close to the beach and other points of interest. We'll definitely be back

On the way back from the outer banks I decided to stop by the Croatan National forest. It's a big forest. I stopped by the area on the neuse river side near Cherry Point marine base. The trails along the river were amazing. Beautiful beaches full of sand. Horse back riding is allowed on this section of trails which us... More

Great campground, quiet, helpful hosts, nice beach access and forest trail. Hot showers in March were a wonder to behold.

We enjoyed our first stay in a National campground. The Cedar Point sites were paved and spacious. Joe, the cohost, was friendly and helpful. Not far from beach and town. Only disappointment was that the restrooms were signed closed for off season ..use handicap restroom..which was clogged up. We didnt get to spend time enjoying the park but campsite was... More

We visited and road the new section of the Mountain to Sea Thread Trail system. Good ride, unidentified spots with quick sand. Tricky navigation but great trip. Camp right on the sound. Beautiful
