We rented a raft and spent several hours floating the river. The river is beautiful and scenery is great. There are a lot of people drinking, but outside of being a little louder than others they were not causing any problems. Just people having fun!...More

At the last minute, my family decided we would like to take a float trip down the Illinois River. We rented a 3 person canoe from Falconhead. The metal fatigue on this boat was insane. The pressure of the water in the river would make...More

I have been doing this float trip since I was like 10 and I'm 50 now! Sharing it with my kids is a wonderful tradition to pass down. I definitely love the rafts much better than the canoes tho.

I had a lot of fun on the river canoeing. It took us about five hours. We took the second longest trip offered. It was a workout, but so much fun. It was so very pretty to see the mountains.

Did they band drinking and swimming in the Illinois River this year? I have heard they did and just wanted to know before I wasted my money.

No they did not. The only alcohol allowed to be consumed on the river is 3.2 beer...the same as in the past. Swimming is still allowed.
