Choice of walks to the pond. No cost. Clean bathrooms at start of trail. Great for birding or painting (we did both). There are some benches along the way for a picnic or just to enjoy the surrounding natural habitat. We will be going back...More

This was a beautiful park with easy walking trails. We saw a beautiful stone wall, birds, butterflies, flowers, chipmunks, and the pond! I would HIGHLY recommend bug spray!

This is an easy walking area with diverse habitats. I would take time by the open field looking for ground birds and raptors. Go past the farm pond. Then, either fork off to the right to go all the way down to Osprey Point, or...More

Well worth a visit for anyone and likely a great spot for kids as the trails are all short to medium length. As one reviewer noted it can definitely get buggy - particularly in the woodland areas- so be sure to apply big repellant; husband...More

Numerous trails lead through a variety of habitats - grassland, forest, shrub, salt pond and shore. Lots of birds to find and ID.

This refuge is excellent for birdwatching during fall migration. For hikers and nature enthusiasts, the refuge is also recommended. The trails are well-marked, and when I went, during mid-October, the trees were changing colors and the surroundings were beautiful. The trails lead through/by fields, forest,...More

We enjoyed the nature trails at Trustom Pond better than Ninigret. Both are National Wildlife Refuges but Trustom had much more waterfowl and bird activity. We saw 2 nests (one was osprey).
