The long trail from the Stratton Arlington road to the US Forest rd on the other side of Bromley Mt is one of the best hikes. The Stratton pond shelter gets pretty crowded as it intersects with local trails from Manchester/Bennington but the tenting area...More

We went onto the Long Trail near Rutland, VT. It was a great hike, as we made it to an Appalaichan Trail shelter before turning around to complete the hike. Great climb.

The long trail is a beautiful Vermont hiking trail and all of us can access it as a day hike, over night, or by walking long sections- or the entire length.

What a fabulous way to spend three weeks. Far from the bustling crowds, arising at dawn in the hopes of seeing moose, you'll endure challenging hardships in order to traverse this rugged pathway. You'll need to bring your own breakfast. The swimming pools are not...More
