BCA Guides was born out of a love for skiing, climbing, and traveling in ways that typical mountain and travel enthusiasts do not. Our guides have spent years climbing, learning, skiing and traveling around the globe to bring you these unique adventures. We love taking the back roads, and the style in which we travel defines our experience. Whether it is light and fast in the alpine, or slowing down in town to get to know the people, we believe that every trip should be a unique and fully-encompassing experience that won’t easily be forgotten or replicated.

I went on a tour with Matt in February, and have previously Avalanche safety and touring courses with BCAG. Matt and the other guides take safety seriously, and are very knowledgeable about back country travel and the Northwest in particular. On this trip, Matt looked for input on where I wanted to ski, and it was a great trip. I... More

I just completed the AIARE I avalanche safety course and I was very pleased with the whole experience. The instructors knew what they were talking about and were able to answer all of my questions, often with real-world examples from their own experiences. I learned a lot and had fun while doing it.

Great experience. I learned so much about how to understand and read avalanche reports and weather forecasts for planning touring and managing risk when deciding where to ski and tour. Thank you for the awesome course and I'm looking forward to getting more hours and experience before signing up for AIARE 2, and really Intro To Touring First!

I and one other person met up with Matt for our tour. We first met up in North bend to pick a spot and ended up choosing Roaring Ridge. I appreciated that Matt had a bunch of experience back in this area. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn touring more quickly, or for expert guidance in... More

The class was very informative and learned a lot of solid basics with a hands-on approach. This one-day class was very cost-effective, which was a major selling point. However, with better prerequisite communication, pre-trip equipment discussion, and syllabus for the day, we may have been able to better allocate time and location. Good value for the cost, overall.

My girlfriend and I signed up for the Easton Glacier Day Hike. We met the guide, Matt and the fourth companion of the day at the Green Lake Park & Ride at 6AM. We made it to the trail head in record time and started out on what was a phenomenal day! Matt was extremely knowledgeable about the trail, supplied... More

What more could you ask for? Between the stellar instruction, flexibility in course formulation, laughs and amazingly delicious back country cooking, my 8 day alpine leadership and climbing course was fantastic. Right off the bat, Matt tailored a program (which was very reasonably priced) that allowed me to accomplish my goals, working around what was a really busy summer schedule.... More
