It was a wonderful time getting some exercise and a wonderful view of DC. Cost was $31.70 for 3 people. Fair warning: it's tougher to paddle back since the current is against you. Definitely worth the unique opportunity to do enjoy the workout and the...More

It looks easy, but takes some muscle. There were times I let my burly son do the work and I just enjoyed the view. We laughed and had a great time getting close to nature and monuments! (If I were alone I would have done...More

The person at the front desk was like a robot. Not charming one bit. Unpleasant! No motorized boat options unlike as mentioned on the website. 92 degrees and peddling for an hr wasn’t fun. The life vests are think and uncomfortable, especially when your sweating...More

We lucked out and arrived in DC just as the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. So we thought the paddle boats we be a fun way to see them from a different perspective. They were a lot of fun. We made our way over...More

This little boat was cramped for us being over 6 feet. The views were unobstructed and amazing. You will get a good workout, so skip leg day! Great time!

From the center of the tidal basin one can see things that you don't notice on shore, a small building which turns out to be a unique memorial, the old toll booths, and new vistas of the Armed Forces memorial. We are both oversized and...More

Took a paddle boat with my 11 year old son on a sunny August afternoon. $18 for the hour - you can rent powered swans for double, or the paddle boat for 4 at $30 (it's the same boat). You can pay extra $12 to...More

Went with our granddaughter who really enjoyed it. It was a calm, sunny and warm (not hot) day toward the end of the tourist rush. Would be beautiful at Cherry Blossom Time and very crowded. You can rent for an hour or more. Parking at...More

Great perspectives of the Jefferson MLK Memorials. A lot of work paddling and you have to keep moving to see both in an hour. Also, it's quite warm on the water so bring a bottle of water and a hat!

We visited the Tidal Basin Paddle Boats just before July 4th and had a great time! The weather was great and the views were amazing. Please keep in mind, this is a workout and shouldn't be taken lightly. Wear the life vests and don't play...More

I am 65 years old and have decent leg muscles so I had no problem with the paddle boats. You MIGHT be able to get all five people in the boat with the child in a personal carrier, but all will have to have life preserverrs... More

You will be able to rent by yourself. Be aware this is probably the busiest time of the year for the paddle boats and I would assume there will be lines.

You really do not have a choice of boat size - you will, get one that seats four. Your husband's legs might get cramped pedaling or he can stretch across the back and you and your daughter pedal.
