like most visitors to the city we stopped in daylight and at night to take our photos of the White House but it was certainly not the highlight of our trip. Washington has so much to see and do, that looking at a somewhat plain white building does not rate highly on my Washington memories. Tip - walk on past... More

Too far away to really see much. Long lines, Barred by trees and fences. You see a building in the distance. Not much fun and too much walking to bother.

The usual tour excludes much so ask your senator for a pass to see more. No tour of the private quarters, but you get to see more public rooms.

It has a nice park just opposite where you can sit and eat a sandwich. Always a few protesters adding to the interest. When we went they had Whitehouse secutity guards going around on Segway transporters. We come from England and I thought the security people looked really stupid. You wouldn't get a British policeman looking like that on a... More

If you're in DC then a stop at the White House is a must. Internal tours needs to be booked weeks in advance but it's easy enough to walk up to the gate and take a quick picture.

I have all ways wanted to see the White House. I had a too short notice that we were going to D.C. For me to get tickets for the Tour of the inside it was just great to be in front of it.

Lovely to see the place but with building work going on at the front and half the park at the back taped off and secret service stopping you getting nearer its hard to see let alone get a good picture. Not as good as I expected it to be.

Get sone great photos here. U can actually get fairly close and get some fairly unobscured views of this historic building/complex. While Not as impressive as one might think/expect, it is certainly historic, famous, well-known, popular and extremely well visited. So it is definitely the highlight of a trip to D.C. And comes w/ it's fair share of stories and... More
