It is beautiful. Nice gift shops and bathrooms (important because they are few and far in between at the National Mall which makes it harder to enjoy with kids)

By far, this is the one place where I will always visit when I go to D.C. I've been there during the day a couple of times but recently went at night. I prefer nighttime as the white monument really comes alive.

We visited at night and were surprised to see so many tour busses. The memorial is beautiful at night and there is actually some free parking nearby. From there the view is spectacular.
