This was a highlight of the trip. Make sure to take advantage of the free "highlights tours" given by volunteer docents twice a day on most days. See George Washington's uniform, Lincoln's top hat, Ben Franklin's cane, the desk Jefferson used to write the Declaration of Independence, the flag that inspired the National Anthem and so much more. Huge museum!

+The stuff that is on stage is nice -however the concept is not clear, why that particular stuff is showed, what is recommended direction to walk o There is a separate indian related museum so this one starts telling stories after and without them; in this way the story is somehow seems out of the blue

All ages will enjoy this museum. Our group ranged from 6 to 65. Many interesting exhibits. This museum is a must for anyone visiting DC. Granddaughters really liked the First Lady's gowns.

Could have spent the whole day exploring. Especially loved the exhibit about the American wars. The displays with explanations was awesome. All thru the years. Even for a Saturday it wasn't to crowded. I enjoyed the transportation exhibit. Really had a great time. Lots to see!!!

There is so much to do in Washington but this has to be at the top of the list - so much history on so many subjects - so inspirational when you look at the innovations and people who have given us so many benefits today. Don't crimp on the time spent here - allocate more than you first thought.

We visited with children from ages 4 to 14 and there was something for everyone. The boys tended to love the machines and the girls wanted to see the Ruby shoes and the first lady gowns. The museum can usually handle large crowds. We parked under the Reagan building which was close by.

This was my favorite.....so far. A nice young lady at the welcome center was awesome and gave us a brief over view of the museum so we didn't spend a lot of time "searching" for what we really wanted to see. It was great!

Love Julia Child - made a visit specifically to see her kitchen - was so inspired by seeing all her tools and reading snippets of her funny quips. Also liked the California Wine exhibit and the First Ladies dresses - awesome!
