This museum is very comprehensive. The exhibits and displays relating to the political history of the USA are not as triumphalist as some in other US cities! They are most informative, well designed and attractive.

Excellent historical. Very packed with people but a definite must see. Bottom floors showcase slavery, and emancipation. Well laid out. Left in awe of the resilience of the people.

I found the Museum very good organized, and it really walked me through the American Heritage History. It is nice to see and experience the history in an chronological manner. It is also organized so that you can select the areas you are interested in. Pictures and posters were well explanatory. I can recommend this with all my hearth.

This is my favorite museum in Washington, DC. I interned here after I finished undergrad and have very fond memories of some of the exhibits. I'm not a huge fan of the modern redesign. I miss the old layout. Now it's huge and sleek. However, they had some new exhibits and a few things I never looked at that I... More

This place is almost as busy as the National History Museum. It is a must see. Plan on waiting in line if you get there at 10am in the morning.

Washington is full of Museums that are free, best suggestion is to get there before the doors open to avoid the mass crowds you can spend a little as 30 minutes to over 3hrs , go at your own pace, this particaly once carries items from the First lady's clothes, to Abe Lincolns hat when assassinated truly remarkable

This museum is a definite must see on your trip. There's a lot to see and lots of things to do for all ages. There were a lot of sections being renovated but there was still half a days worth of other exhibits. Definitely check out the star spangled banner flag. Food was terrible as I'd expect and wayyyy too... More

They have re-done this museum since the last time I had visited, and I am not sure I like it better? It's smooth and streamlined now, and I guess you can get through it a lot faster. I remember it taking forever to see everything before, but that was ok. I liked the themes that they had, but for me,... More

The national museum of american history is, in my opinion, the best museum in DC. It has a fascinating array of many different things from Archie Bunkers Chair to clothing worn by the first ladies of the USA.
