The displays were very sterile and there was not nearly as much on display as I had anticipated given the size of the Smithsonian collection. HALF of the 3rd floor was closed for renovation. Don't you think they could get that done during the Fall,...More

Highly recommended! We got there a bit before 10am (suggested!) and spent the better part of the day in the museum. We toured with a guide for over an hour (10:15 tour) and then went back to see certain halls. Beautifully set up and enjoyable....More

I was super excited to go here, but honestly wasn't overly impressed. Actually was bored quickly and I enjoy history! Did like getting to see the star spangled banner & abe lincolns hat.

We spent hours with our 6 and 9 year old and still didn't see the whole museum. Amazing to see the flag that inspired the national anthem and Lincoln's hat.

Perhaps because it's quieter than the Natural History and Aerospace museums, this emerged as our favourite of the three that we visited. Or maybe it was that the exhibits were SO well displayed? We saw the Star Spangled Banner some years ago but now the...More

Yes! The kitchen is why we chose this museum among our first to see. If I remember correctly it is the first floor past the the info booth to the left then the immediate left. Have a wonderful time!
