I wasn't expecting much so imagine my surprise. There aren’t enough superlatives in the English language. We took the guided tour and we were glad that we did. There is so much symbolism and the building is beyond beautiful. Hope to go back and do...More

It is a very impressive building. When checking out the main area you have to go up some levels and look out glass windows to see. Wish there was a way to go onto the main floor and stand in this massive library.

If I could give the Library of Congress 10 Stars I would. It is beyond impressive to consider what is stored here, what is available to see here, and what care has been taken to keep many things available for future Generations. Their care and...More

Definitely worth a visit. The have an small art gallery in there which is nice. The gift shop has lots of unique things. You can learn a lot just by walking around and reading.

Our tour guide Bob was great, extremely knowledgeable and obviously cares a great deal for the library. It was hard to hear though- there are many tour groups walking around at the same time. I could have stayed a lot longer, but my teens did...More

We didn’t have much time to explore as it was close to closing time. The intricate artwork is amazing. Just to see the entry will take your breath away.

The building is quite amazing. Worth going. It won’t take more than 20 minutes. Only disappointment is that the exhibits are mostly unimpressive

Spent a long weekend touring one of my favorite cities with my Wife. She absolutely fell in love with the city. Walked our feet off trying to see as much as we could. The absolute highlight of the trip was our tour of the Library...More

Our Docent Len was as informative as anyone could be. He explained the architectural designs and connections that drew you into the history of the building. We went on a recommendation and spent the rest of the afternoon there. Artwork, architecture, several museum displays and...More

I would plan 2-3 hours so as not to rush. The tour guides seem very good. My cousin works there so she took us around herself. Much more than a library!!

I agree, 90 minutes to 2 hours is a good time frame to put aside, that would give you enough time to either tour on your own or take a guided tour, plus have time to look around on your own if you do decide to do the tour... More
