This is a must-see. Try to get upstairs first to view the reading room and then work your way down the steps. There is an excellent exhibit of Jefferson's original library.

Not your typical visit in DC, since you need to keep quiet and you aren't allowed to read the books. However if you want to do some serious research, walk across the street and get a readers card (might make a nice souvenir)

Finally took the chance and visited the Library of Congress while in DC, Sept. 2016. As a history fan, I love this building. So many classic books and originals from the likes of Thomas Jefferson and other famous individuals. Will definitely make another visit here in the future.

I am surprised that this gem is not on everyone's must-see list when they visit the nation's capital. The architecture is stunning, and the interior design/decor is breathtaking. Granted, I love books...but this library is so much more. Don't just take my word for it, though. Go see it for yourself!!!

We were so impressed by the LOC. What a beautiful building with incredible architecture. The tour guide was awesome and provided tons of great info. One out favorite things we've seen so far.

We highly enjoyed the public tour here. It starts with a short film underscoring the library's importance. Much of the tour focuses on the building itself, but many of the collections are also discussed. It is an incredibly beautiful place. I highly recommend this tour for both architecture buffs as well as, of course, readers. The gift shop has very... More

I was scheduled for a tour. I showed up on time / ahead of time as requested. Watched a video about how/what the library does. Got me excited. Then the tour started-late because people show up late. Then I spent the next 30 min bored with our tour guide because she went on and on about the the construction, and... More
