Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We mapped to Georgetown Waterfront Park & Google Maps took us to the highway running above the park. Several turns, curves & lights later we made it to where we planned to go. Best accessed by public transportation we learned! Waterfront area wirh restaurants and a great environment in the heart of the city.

Close to the shops and restaurants of Georgetown, this park offered a peaceful escape. The paths were easy to walk and the view is not to be missed. Beautiful plants and water fountains. If it hadn’t been raining, we would have spent more time there. Great photo opportunities!

It was a wonderful day and people took full advantage of it. There were many families, singles, couples and pets. Lots of boats were out on the Potomac River, and there were boat tours available. Along the waterfront were a string of restaurants with patios in which the patrons could enjoy the beautiful views. This is a great place to see the river, art sculptures, boats, people and to walk on the nature walks. It’s a bit tricky to get in the parking lot due to being located in high traffic area, but there were plenty of parking spaces when we went.

This small but appealing park is perched on the western edge of the Georgetown Harbour area. It commands excellent views down the Potomac River toward the Kennedy Center, and across the river to Theodore Roosevelt Island and Rosalyn. There are ample benches and even occasional metal tables and chairs, making it a perfect spot to lunch, chat, or just rest and reflect.

Great place to have a nice dinner with friends and colleagues. Nice to walk outside before or after dinner. Is not a cheap place to eat so be aware.

This is a lovely area right on the waterfront in Georgetown. The complex has quite a few shops and restaurants and is typically bustling, especially during the nice weather months. Fun place for a stroll or meal. As you stroll you have good views of Arlington, Roosevelt Island and Key Bridge. On our recent visit, we enjoyed dinner at Farmers Fishers Bakers and post-dinner gelato at Gelateria Dolce Vita.

Waterfront park is where the Georgetowners and tourists alike come to relax. There is a lot of steps by the river where you can sit and enjoy a nice view of the Kennedy center in the far off, ducks by the river and a nice sunset as the backdrop.
There are fountains by the river which form a great photograph and usually you can see small toddlers and kids playing around it which is a lot of fun to watch. If lucky, there are also street performers and musicians which make for a fun vibe.
All in all, a nice happy place to spend an hour or so and relax.

Is it safe to walk from the Georgetown Waterfront area to the Watergate Hotel?
Written 14 May 2019
Oh yes, go around the boathouse in the back and the walk to the parking lot at rock creek parkway and cross the street and there is the hotel.
