This zoo is amazing-- animals appear to be well-treated and have habitats rather than just cages. the panda house currently has 2 adults and 2 cubs, but cub BAO-BAO will be leaving for China early 2017. Amazonia is an indoor rainforest-like exhibit that is great, especially on a cold or rainy day. SInce they can't charge admission, there is a... More

Parking is reasonably priced and it's free to enter! Wonderful exhibits that are educational. There are many Food options and the food is good but a bit pricey. There are also many options to purchase souvenirs. Highly recommended!

The National Zoo is clean and a pleasure to stroll through. Limited parking. Located about half way between Woodley Park and Cleveland Park Metro Stations with entrance on Connecticute Ave. Free. Pandas are the most popular, but despite being a smallish and easily walkable zoo all of the major animals are represented and well presented. In December the zoo is... More

You will see animals here that you will see in very few other zoos. They have expanded some of the exhibits so the animals have more room. A great place to take kids.

We liked this park, we saw different kind of animals, enjoyed a quick meal in the food court and we were lucky to see the Christmas lights decoration 😀 I advise families to visit this park in a nice sunny day since it is all outdoor..

This is a rather small, but very walkable zoo with very nice exhibits and it is free! The volunteers were more than happy to answer any questions you or your children may have on the animals. Seeng the pandas was truly the best part of the day. if you can visit during the holidays, the zoo lights are awesome!

Normally wouldn't have visited the zoo but there were pandas and we don't get to see them in New Zealand so that was pretty cool. Other than that it was a pretty average zoo and I guess we were expecting a little more in terms of some of the enclosures.

The National Zoo is special. Everyone at the zoo was enjoying the weather and the animals. While I enjoyed everything about the zoo, the Panda, Primate and Pachyderms were the best. The set up of the exibits, the animals and the look of enjoyment on everyone's face make the National Zoo a must place to go. The National Zoo is... More

We took our grandson here. From downtown we took the Circulator Bus which was about a 20 minute ride and costs only $1. Good way to get around town. We had a great time but be prepared to walk. From the main entrance it is mostly all downhill which means it is all uphill on the way out. Lots of... More
