I know the zoo is a little far out from all the other historical monuments but this is worth the metro trip. It is a beautiful zoo, so clean, and so spread out. It has such unique animals and I loved seeing the pandas. My husband and I went and loved it just as much as families did who were... More

Your local zoo may have more animal varieties but this zoo has special unusual/endangered animals. Asian elephants including one that will be 80 next year! A desert Sand cat that I have never seen anywhere else. A couple of Przewalski horses! Of course, giant Panda!!

I had some down time, so I walked to the zoo. Since my taxes go toward paying for it I figured I would go see it. I really enjoyed it. The zoo was clean and well kept. Many of the animals were not out due to the cool weather, but it was enjoyable none the less.

On the outskirts but easy to get to. Lovely zoo to walk around. Highlight was the pandas. And it's free!

My husband and I enjoyed the zoo. It was large, clean, and the animal looked very well cared for. Best of all no admission cost. One of the better zoo to visit. It's a must do if you are in D.C.

There's a lovely carousel and the grounds are attractive. However, both times I visited I saw very few animals, Parking is relatively expensive. Travel by metro when possible.

We live in a small town, and our local zoo is nice, but we don't have the exotic animals. So, when we come to Washington, DC, we have planned a stop at the zoo at least 2 times. The highlight for us is the Panda bears, along with the elephants, tigers, and lions, which our zoo does not have. Great... More

I was honestly slightly disappointed by this Zoo in comparison to others that I have gone to around the country. It is a great opportunity for those who want to see Giant Pandas though. I wouldn't recommend coming here in the winter as most of the animals are cold-intolerant so they are off exhibit where you cannot see them. We... More

If you love animals and Zoos you must visit if in DC. It does get hot in the summer and the animals find the shade. It is a great place to walk and learn about nature. You can also people watch.

Free attraction! Great fun for a day out! We did however go in winter and a lot of the animals arnt there for winter which is sad but understandable because of their natural climate, and also some of the animals were gone for construction of the zoo which was also disappointing. However we still had a great day here and... More
