This zoo was a delightful experience for our 8 & 5 year olds. The Panda’s and Tigers were there favorites. The weather was accommodating for this lifetime experience. “Kids Park” really brought out their curiosity with the “B” theme. A really great FAMILY day.

I’ve been to the National Zoo in the summer before and there was lots of animal activity. I was a little disappointed today with several of the displays off line for the winter and some of the buildings closed for renovations. Got to see cheetahs,...More

The zoo has many animals you often don't see in zoos, including pandas and elephants. The workers and volunteers were all happy to answer any questions we had. I would definitely recommend visiting.

I don't think a lot of people realize the National Zoo is free. And for being a free zoo, it's really well done. I think it's a must-do for anyone visiting the DC area, for those two reasons alone. Because it is free, you can...More

We were able to take the whole family to the zoo for the $20 price of parking. The pandas are beyond cute and they have experts at most of the exhibits to give you those interesting facts about the animal or their behaviors that really...More

Great zoo, right on the Metro, Free admittance. Must take Metro as parking is all but impossible or expensive or far away. Good variety, many well done sub-houses specializing on specific environments or animal niches. Eat outside as there are many wonderful eateries just outside....More

It's not often you can find free family fun in the city. The National Zoo is a gem and only one of four in the US to host giant pandas.

Went here on a nice November day. Fairly easy walking distance from the Cleveland stop on the Red Line. It is hilly with a lot of walking. The pandas and the elephants were pretty awesome, the remainder was ok. It was fairly crowded on this...More

There is no touching any of the animals especially the pandas...they are very well cared and protected for. But you should make seeing them a priority, go into the building attached to their enclosure because you may get to... More
