Hi, we travelled with cabin sized luggage which we easily stored overhead. Unfortunately I can’t be sure about storing the large suitcases. However, I did notice in some carriages there was a large empty area in front of seats just inside the entry door where large cases or push chairs could be accommodated. I would recommend checking with Amtrak directly though, just to be sure!
