Next time I am in DC I want to tour the inside. on the bus tour we learned how to tell if the senate or house is in. that Lady Liberty is at the top of the building and she is the tallest free standing statue in DC. Because nothing is above our liberty. so many other neat fax.

You have to visit the Capitol if you are visiting DC. It is one of the most iconic building in the world. They have done a renovation recently and everything is looking great. Just sit by the pond in front of it and look out at the entire Mall and you can see all the way to the Lincoln Memorial.... More

The Capitol Hill was enjoyable for me and my family. The architecture, massive paintings, statues. Is not a long tour, about an hour. Each tour groups wears a headset that is set up to the frequency of their guide, but the closer you are to him, or her, the better the signal. The tour concentrates on the rotunda and the... More

No trip to Washington would be complete without visiting capital hill. Amazing architecture and a good selection of hotels bars and restaurants in a small area. Also very safe and heavily policed, Loads to see and do tonnes of history in this area. The library of congress is a must see, the interior is amazing!

This is an amazing thing to see if you enjoy politics and want to know how a bill is made. You can actually go inside and go on a tour of the Capitol. My husband loved going here.

Our daughter lives just north of this area near Eastern Market. We were exploring with our two year old granddaughter coming down the hill from Eastern Market and our wee one in her stroller got so excited when she saw the Capitol dome. . . you will too! In the summer we have seen the US Marine band perform in... More

It was the last day of 2016, we just walked in the Capitol and had a tour before it closed in one hour. It was wonderful that we could really walk into the rotunda! The ceiling and frescos are great.

You can't just go in, you need tickets. I got them from my Congressman. No food allowed, so we have to discard our snack. It was a mistake commonly made I suppose, judging from the many people finishing their food before entering the visitor center. From here you can continue to The Library of Congress (The Jefferson Building).
