This is a beautiful and thoughtful memorial which enables those of us not that familiar with US history to connect to the chronological nature of his legacy through its design. It is clear why he is a much-loved figure in history and his words are as relevant now as they were when he spoke them. We loved all of the... More

It has it's detractors, and it's a little bit out of the way (which is a good thing because you won't face the crowds that permanently shroud the Lincoln Memorial), but I really like this memorial. It's grand in scale, but still interesting to look at up close. It gives you a good sense of the man. At the front... More

Outstanding and thought provoking monument. Take your time while strolling through it! Usually less visited so much less crowded

This is an overlooked stop on your way from the mall and Lincoln memorial to Jefferson and is HIGHLY recommended. I followed a tour group in here and the guide had tons of interesting stories about the art installations and statues. There are a LOT of statues in this memorial, so worth the 30 minutes I walked through it. There... More

Of the newer memorials, the FDR Memorial is my favorite. You can easily spend an hour walking through the memorial. Some really nice sculptures. My favorite was of FDR and his dog Fala. My wife was impressed with the sculpture of the men standing in the bread li9ne. Very impressive. It shows the history of his four terms of his... More

A sprawling Memorial, so allow plenty of time - each of the inscriptions is worth reading and reflecting on.

This well intentioned monument misses the mark. For those without a knowledge of FDR history, it would not make much sense.

Somewhat off the beaten path. But don't miss it. The walk around the basin is beautiful and will reward you with MLK, FDR and Jefferson Memorials.

This memorial is comprised of multiple statues and tributes to FDR throughout his life. As you walk, you follow his journey and reflect on his impact. Beautiful tribute.

Quite different to other memorials, but like the flowing design and the way they are separated and the use of water. Tasteful and peaceful. Good place for quiet personal reflection. Great views and filled with quotes and key aspects of his presidency.
