I didn't really plan on visiting but when we got off the metro it was so convenient so we figured why not. I'm glad we stayed. The museum inside and downstairs is worth walking through too. Lots of old uniforms and models of historic ships...More

I wasn't expecting this memorial as I came out of the Archive metro station. At first it seemed like a simple fountain but as I looked more I noticed the prominent lone sailor sculpture with his marine bag. There were also a large number of...More

Beautiful fountain with plaques commemorating Naval history. The Lone Sailor statue is a great tribute to the American sailor. There is small museum and gift shop nearby. While there, got to meet vets from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

very nice tribute memorial to the Navy. The lone sailor was striking. The fountains and historical scenes of different positions in the Navy was nice. Great place to sit and give thanks to those that served.

I went at night in the winter when no one was around. There was no water, no sound, no distractions. I could just wander and look at each of the 24 bronze bas relief panels. I especially appreciated that many aspects of Navy life and...More

Located in Penn Quarter across Pennsylvania Avenue from Archives, many D.C. explorers might miss this great sculpture and fountain. It's a nice photo op. If you're heading to China Town on Metro's Green or Yellow line, it might be worth it to get out at...More

Stopped in to this place just to give it a try. Don't expect a large display, because this is a pretty small place by DC Mall Museum standards. Quality exhibits though. I've never served in the Navy so maybe that's why it didn't especially click...More
