We stumbled onto this location while en route to another part of the city. What a lovely and relaxing time we had. The place we tried to get to was closed but we didn't really mind. It was really a fun time strolling down the street browsing at the vendors wares. We bought a new hat for me (photo) and... More

This place is awesome and has a good selection of foods. My breakfast was very good. The only reason I gave it four stars, and it really isn't their fault, is the limited parking in the area. Of course, parking in Washington, DC is difficult even on the best days, so keep that in mind when you visit. Transit is... More

Always enjoy a good local market, and it was nice to walk through DC on route. It was however a little small.

I went here a few days ago and return today because one oyster sandwich. But the staff of the place (is the only with this kind of food) are horrible. The business man is stupid, probably doesn't like foreigner because I was very polite but I cannot say the same about him, who was scream with a bad face when... More

This is a fun market to visit, especially at the weekend where outside stalls are set up selling a huge range of goods. The inside section has meats, fruit, vegs, flowers, cheeses, breads and so on. We loved the crab cakes and blueberry buckwheat pancakes from The Market Lunch, sharing the one long table with locals and other tourists. The... More

I have to admit, I expected this market to be bigger. Maybe it is in the summer. We picked up some good fresh produce here, and also some meat. It's very close to a Metro stop.

We were here on a sunny autumn day and spent a good two hours here enjoying the variety of vendors selling their wares and great food stands as well. The prices were good and there were a lot of unique items and ethnic foods. It's in a beautiful part of the city and a great place to hang out with... More

If you have the time this is fun, we did on Saturday with street market, don't think I'd recommend trip if week day as not much variety indoors. We skipped the pancake queue as too long and can get breakfast anywhere and we really enjoyed the Philippino street food fresh, flavoursome and the couple who ran it where keen to... More

Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. An open air market with food, art, crafts, clothing. Walkable from the Capital Hill area. Interesting sites along the way

I'd heard high praise for DC's Eastern Market, so during a recent trip to the city, I hopped in a cab and went to check it out. I'm so glad I did! I started with a short stack of blueberry buckwheat pancakes at The Market Lunch. Delicious! I sat at the long counter aside a group of tourists from Scotland.... More
