Powerful Image.

Wish there was more to see about Luther - he was so inspirational. The statue is amazing, huge and powerful but I'd like to see something more just on him.

Nice to see America expanding it's view of our history. Didn't know how I would feel but I was moved. My husband was a bit disappointed that it didn't look "exactly" like him, but the setting, the mood, the quotes made up for it. I really liked walking thru the "mountain" to reach the man.

This is probably one of the most impressive monuments in DC. Out of the mountain is a stone of beauty.

This is one of the newer memorials and I went during the evening to catch a shot of the memorial as it was lit up.

I enjoyed finally getting a chance to see this monument.. it's much larger than I expected. It's face Jefferson Memorial.. and along the banks of the Tidal basin near the Potomac.

Clearly the role of Martin Luther-King in the history of the US is well established. This monument is of a more modern style than many surrounding it, with a sculpture of the great man being the main focus.

The visage of the Reverend MLK Jr. chiseled from rock serves as a stark reminder of all the work that still needs to be done to achieve what we all dream will one day come true.

Excellent memorial next to the Potomac. It featured a large statue with a wall inscribed with several of MLK's most famous quotes. It's cool how the statue is carved out of a large chunk of stone with much of the stone remaining. It's made to make reference to his quote, "Out of a mountain of despair, A stone of hope."... More

There is something about this stop that is very serene and peaceful. You almost don't want to make a noise. Mlks famous quotes are lined on a wall going around the statue. Lovey place and sculpture!

Visited this Memorial during my night bus tour. It is a hugh walk to and from the Memorials from what I researched prior to my trip so I book a hop-on hop-off bus tour that included the night tour as well. The Martin Luther King Memorial stands very tall. It is the newest of all the Memorials in DC. You... More
