A little further off the beaten path which means it was less busy than some of the other memorials. It was extremely moving. The memorial looks out over the water and on a sunny day it feels so momentous. You walk into the memorial through two large rock "mountains" and MLK is carved into a third stone "mountain" looking out... More

We went here during Thanksgiving break with family to see the new monument. It is magnificent. It's such a large and powerful sculpture and so impressive when you walk through the cut granite to approach the statue. I recommend it highly. It's just outside the main part of the mall and only a short walking distance from the Korean War... More

This is a very powerful memorial. Not just the statue, which is amazing, but also all the quotes on the walls behind the statue that remind us of the powerful man seeking justice, equality and peace for our nation.

One of DC's newer memorials, it's impressive. Look from both directions up close to understand the design's significance. The quotes on the adjacent walls demonstrate MLK's intelligence and forward thinking. Nice and thoughtful space with a view of Jefferson memorial.

While it is simple in design, the symbolism is POWERFUL. Very fitting for this astonishing man. The memorial is a must see, my personal favorite!

This by far is one of the smallest (acreage) Memorials in DC. I think I remember the Atlanta, GA MLK Jr. Memorial as being more interesting and educational. Every U.S. Citizen should learn about MLK Jr., and his role in the civil rights movement, and his peaceful Christian beliefs.

I haven't been back to D.C. since the MLK memorial was built. The quotes were both inspirational and timely. His words resonated and gave me hope in these dark days.

This is a nicely done memorial. The size is impressive and I loved the quotes. This is easily accessible using the circulator bus. Otherwise it is a long walk from the national mall. The location along the river gives nice views as well.

Very pretty memorial. Enjoyed reading the quotes along the wall. You can also get great views of the Jefferson Memorial from this site.
