Old stadium

This may have been great at one point, but now the stadium is dilapidated. I've seen NFL games, MLB games, concerts, and soccer games here. I'm just not impressed.

We went here to see DC United play New York City FC. The game and stadium itself were OK, but really anything that was organized here was a disaster. First, parking. We came in an hour before the game so pretty early. There are no signs for parking whatsoever, so there was a massive chaos with thousands of cars trying... More

At a loose end I went to see Howard University at Hampton University, staged at the RFK. Easy enough to get a ticket downloaded for $25 Easy to get to from downtown on the Blue or Orange Line, the upper tiers were empty but the lower tiers were soon filled up. The place was full of university students - obviously... More

We went to see the Portland Timbers play DC United and all I can say is oof. the seats are tiny and uncomfortable, even though we had great seats it was rough sitting in the 100+ degree weather in tiny uncomfortable seats. also, there are no cup holders, which would be the easiest upgrade ever. It was an experience, but... More

My son and I attended our first MLS game. We wanted to see Montreal, well Didier Drogba, vs DC United. This was our first trip to RFK. I was a little shocked at the state of disrepair as we approached the stadium. Once inside I felt at home, as it reminded me of Municipal Stadium in Cleveland. We had great... More

There is a lot of character at RFK and a great atmosphere at the DC United matches held there. If you have never been be sure and check it out before it is torn down. Great tailgating in the parking lot and a party in the stadium. See you there!

It's nice to have a standby stadium when you need it, but this place is way past safe utilization imho. It's just a matter of time before something breaks in a bad way.

I went to see a D.C. United match recently and while the soccer game was a lot of fun, the venue is down right depressing. The seats and stands are gross, rusted and probably no longer structurally sound. The concourses are empty and over 3/4's of the stadium was empty and according to season ticket holders, that's the case every... More

Went to a soccer game between DC United and the New England Revolution on a Saturday evening. The game was pretty good with a crowd of about 16000. I sat in the supporters section with the Screaming Eagles and there was plenty of chanting and jumping that makes a soccer game a fun experience. Unfortunately, for as good as the... More

On our recent D.C. trip, we drove past RFK and it brought back memories from our visit there 10 years earlier. Back then, we saw a Washington Nationals baseball game there. They played in this old stadium when they first moved to D.C. from Montreal, before they built and moved to their new Nationals Park. The game that day was... More
