This is a memorial to Christopher Columbus. It is a big fountain by union station. It symbolizes the man who blurbed while others doubted. Chart your own course!

You can see the memorial as soon as you walk out from Union Station. There is a cool and a big bell right in front the monument. Irina definitely worth a picture.

It's easy to miss the beautiful statuary when distracted by traffic in the circle and by Union Station. However, this is a beautiful statue of Columbus. In front is a figure called Winged Discovery with eyes shut and wings flying. On one side is an...More

This monument is immediately in front of Union Station and is loaded with symbolism of the various aspects of the explorer's life. It is well worth the time to visit and consider on Columbus's life and his activities.

Large memorial to Christopher Columbus located right in front of Union Station. No water in the fountain, though, when I was there.

You can't miss it as it is right out the front doors of Union Station but when we were there, there was no water in the fountain. Still it is a nice statue dedicated to Christopher Columbus. Look for the Freedom Bell nearby.

I had a difficult time visiting and taking pictures of the fountains and other exhibits at this location. A shirtless man would not budge from his location near the Fountain. There are several homeless men either lying down on the ground or milling around. Perhaps,...More
