Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I were visiting Washington DC for a weekend and went to 8:00am mass on Sunday. Our hotel was a 15 minute walk from the church. This is a beautiful Catholic church and the mass was nice but the only thing that was strange was there was no music at all. I found that very different from the Catholic Churches we go to in Michigan. Maybe the person in charge of music was sick or not available. There was hardly any people in attendance for the mass, I’m not sure if that is normal or not.

Very friendly church, almost entirely tourist in attendance at mass. We were even asked to bring up gifts and when my wife let them know we were travelling the usher informed us "everyone here is travelling". It is a beautiful old church, near Ford’s Theater and very close to the Hyatt.

St. Patrick's Church is the oldest parrish in DC and was founded in 1794! It is a lovely place to visit. St Patrick's Catholic Church is located between G and F at the corner of 10th St NW and G. It is 2 short blocks from Metro Center and 1 block from Gallery Place. There is no fee, so FREE to come inside and look at all the beautiful interior. You just to make sure you aren't arriving during a mass service. You will find beautiful stained glass windows, mosaics, paintings, and statues. The architecture is stunning! The pictures online do not show the true beauty of the church. We stopped in because we happened to see the lovely building as we walked past. I love churches and wanted to look inside. I was so happy that we stopped! There were no crowds. I highly recommend that you take the time to visit St Patrick's Catholic Church.

We liked to visit a church when we’re traveling & this is just few blocks from our hotel. Nice ceiling & glass window design. A block from a subway train station.

Went to church twice and while we enjoyed the serenity and beauty of the church, the poor acoustics was quite noticeable and detracted from the experience. Given its historic nature, they should really get and expert to improve the acoustics so as to improve the sacred experience. It is a gem in downtown DC.

We did not get to stay but for 5 minutes because they were closing up at 3 pm. We very quickly looked around. The church is gorgeous! I wish we had more time to enjoy.

Travelers who plan to visit Chinatown and near by attraction should add St Patrick's Catholic Church in the self-walk agenda. According to the history, it is the oldest church established in Federal City (Washington D.C.) and was established to service the needs of immigrants working at the White House and the Capitol. The Church is tugged in between new buildings and the booming neighborhood of Chinatown. The Victorian Gothic style building gives travelers the sense of calm and spiritual feeling during the visit. It is also located a few blocks from Ford Theater, Verizon Center and Chinatown, and other museums around. Just take a break from the busy sightseeing and come to admire this great architecture.

We went to the 8 o'clock Mass on Sunday. The church was beautifully decorated for Christmas with its white marble and red poinsettias! The Mass was short, only 35 minutes and not crowded. The sermon was engaging and the priest was down to earth. Perfect! I would definitely recommend this church and would visit here again.
