Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Blair House is the President’s Guest House. We were walking by and were delighted to see it decorated for the holidays. We were reminded of just recently watching as the Bush Family left the residence to attend the funeral of their beloved Dad and Grandfather, President George H.W. Bush.
Blair House has served as the home away from home for visiting chiefs of state, heads of government, and their delegations since 1942.
When visiting leaders reside here, the flags of their nations fly proudly over Blair House, a courtesy that serves as both a gracious welcome and a symbol of the home’s crucial role in diplomatic relations.

Came to see where all the overseas dignitaries stayed - was impressive

Fun to learn that it was created by FDR after a drunken visit by Churchill and an incident with Eleanor

Not open to the general public, but an interesting place nonetheless. Visiting heads of state and other dignitaries stay in this 119 room, 70,000 sq. ft. house. It's bigger than the White House although you can't tell from the outside. It's four buildings-all connected inside. President Truman stayed here during most of his term as president after the White House was condemned and was being renovated. We were lucky enough to get a tour inside. It is impressive!

Wouldn’t you like to be a visiting dignitary so that you could stay at Blair House, we sure wish we were? Blair House is known as the President’s Guest House. It is not open to the public. It sits across from the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. It was purchased by the U.S. government in 1942. You will know if there are visiting leaders as the flags of their nations will fly proudly over Blair House. This is a way of offering a gracious welcome and a symbol of the home’s crucial role in diplomatic relations.

This is the famous guest house for presidential guests. It is actually four different connected houses all fronted by the famous green door at the front.
Very famous people have slept here.
You cannot visit the house, but it is fun to imagine all the dignitaries who have visited.

Blair house is the residence of visiting dignitaries and VIPs. It was the home of Francis P. Blair and his son Jame's widow and children. Granddaughter Violet Blair Janin was a trustee of Mammoth Cave and negotiated the sale of it to become a National, lived here too. Park. If you get a chance, stop to visit.

I was lucky enough to get an inside tour of the house. It's not open to the public so the only way in is if you know someone that works there or there is some historical society that does tours if you belong. The history & artifacts were amazing! So cool to be able to walk around the house which is actually 4 houses combined. It was awesome!

The Blair House is where many foreign leaders stay while visiting the White House. It's basically just across from the White House and well worth taking a minute or two to check out.
