Hiking trails

What a great place, close to campus for a walk. Great hiking trails with a creek, lots of shade in the summer and lots of feel good nature all around.

Interesting hiking trails in historic forest preserve. Educational. Good place to take school age children!

The Ecology Preserve is absolutely fantastic. It is gorgeous and very well-maintained. The trails are great, and the playground is a huge hit with younger kids. They regularly have programs and camps that are always good. Members can book the pavilion and a short animal program (with live animals) for birthday parties. There's also a fantastic fire ring and amphitheater.... More

The Kreher Forest is a jewel of the Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Science's crown. Both for solitary and group exploration are options for initial and return visits. It's a natural playground for young and old alike.

The Preserve is a huge wooded wonderland with trails, a waterfall, a natural playground and other surprises. A great place to spend time- a 30 minute playground visit or a couple of hours of hiking. No dogs allowed (important for the wildlife who call this place home). Nice and shady in the hot summer months!

I love coming here to run and explore. There is a great deal of wildlife and several photogenic locations. I recommend trying to find the old barn out there. Has a cool horse drawn cart nearby and a glass bottle tree. My girlfriend and I like to come here at least once while she's in town. Also, it's rarely busy,... More

My son and I love this place! There are great trails to hike, a great "natural" playground for the kids to play on. They also have a beautiful pond to hike too. Animal watching is always an adventure too! Love, Love, Love!

Always a fun place to walk around and let the kids burn some energy. So many paths you can get lost. They have a small play area for kids. Great time

Lots of different trails. Quiet with nice benches and places that you can stop and sit and read or just enjoy the outdoors.

I think we've all had experiences that we get so stoked about we can't help but immediately share. Without a doubt the Louise Kreher Forest Ecology Preserve is one that I didn't want to hesitate very long to write and share in both words and pictures. Visualize outdoor classrooms, because that is what it primarily is. The preserves mission is... More
