Several short hikes ranging from level botanical interpretive stroll, to steep scrambles up several peaks. Wear decent boots. Sneakers aren't suitable for the sharp rocks and break-down.

The hike is 2.4 miles and is moderate, on the trail you can see very nice wild flowers and great views of Gold Canyon and Superstition Mountains.

Hard to compare with Superstition Mountain, which lies just off the N.E. horizon, but a nice, scenic hike for those looking for something close by. Several trails, from easy to moderately challenging, take you up to the top of Silly Mountain. Don't let her name of looks fool you ... this is a decent elevation climb over rocky terrain and... we are always looking for a new hike in the Mesa area, and this one is close, and has multiple hiking and walking trails. As always, wear good, sturdy shoes, as there is a lot of loose rock along the way, and take water. You can do a botanical walk - no incline - or go for a number of other... More

There are several hikes with something for every level of stamina. There is a botanical garden to stroll thru and a vigorous hike straight up the mountain. The only downside is the lack of restroom facilities. Not even a portable toilet. That can be distressing if your visit there is a lengthy one. Free to the public. Good parking.

You now can not only hiking the many wonderful trails on the mountain and around it but there is a very nice walking trail on flat land by the parking lot. They have the names of the different cactus' and plants listed so you can get familiar with the desert plants. If you didn't want to hike but just do... More

I hiked this trail with my sister's Becky and valory. There are spectacular views from the top silly Mountain. I loved the huge cactus. Bring plenty of water to drink!!
