It’s easy to find this outstanding building, even from the highway. It’s nice to understand this was the former capitol of California. There is a free and interesting museum inside to visit.

This is a lovely old architectural court house that is still used today. The citizens of Auburn fund raised to restore it and it is now a noteworthy museum of the times and places in Placer County.

The view of the outside of the Placer County Museum is worth the drive to Auburn in itself, beautiful. When you step inside, you can feel the rustic nature of what things must have been like in the late 1800's. Take your time and enjoy.

This is a beautiful building. The museum is wonderful. The section on Native American relics is especially close to my heart as my Aunt donated all of the artifacts!

Interesting little museum. Learned a few things about the area. A few hands on things for kids and a good little movie. Fun to go the old building. Took my parents and 9 year old daughter.
