My husband and I are lighthouse buffs. We visit lighthouses whenever we are in the vicinity of one--we even spent the night in a lighthouse in San Francisco Bay. We opted for the trolley ride. Thought the hike might be too strenuous. Our driver was...More

Point San Luis Lighthouse is the only remaining one of three that were alike and it's worth the trolley ride to see and get a sense of the history of not just the light house but the area. While riding our bikes to the old...More

This is a good experience. The driver is knowledgable, and funny. The lighthouse has been lovingly restored and the docents most friendly. Interesting subject of course, glad we went

Thanks for the informative review! Just a heads up that water and snacks are indeed available for sale in the gift shop. Our tours usually take around one hour, in which a docent leads guests around the historic site. Although we work closely with the...More

Enjoyed a trolley ride to the lighthouse with interesting commentary about the area and beautiful vistas. Our docent ,Lynda made the lighthouse and the home come to life. Her enthusiasm was contagious and made the tour memorable

Avila Beach is such a beautiful beachside location and as a visitor from Australia was treated by my US hosts to all the local attractions. Loved the trolley bus ride to enjoy the views, amazing ocean views and an interesting tour from the local guide.

I recommend the ladies wear slacks/jeans if you would like to climb to the top of the lighthouse. It is a narrow, adventurous staircase to the top. Worth it!
