Find serpentine trails, a babbling creek, and rock engravings of Denver's lyrics. Good place for meditation, dog walking, getting your feet wet, and with a guitar or I-pod singing along to the lyrics. Find the park on the edge of Rio Grande Park in Aspen's...More

Beautiful and peaceful sanctuary. I enjoyed reading the quotes and song lyrics on the rocks. Wish I brought a picnic lunch and a book. I could have sat there all day!

We walk through John Denver sanctuary. The words to his songs were carved into large stones, making his lyrics even more poignant. You can see what he felt in this surrounding. Beautiful easy trail and setting

This is certainly a “must do” if you were John Denver fan. Many of his lyrics are carved in the rocks. The sanctuary is a garden (a bit like a botanical garden). It consists of packed gravel trails winding among gardens and rocks along the...More

The John Denver Sanctuary is perhaps the best example of a man- made place that feels natural and as though it has always been there. Beautifully executed as a civic/privately financed partnership, this attraction is one of my absolute favorite places in Aspen. The plantings...More

The Sanctuary was okay, but nothing to rave about. The park was full of kids and teenagers just hanging out.

I would suggest contacting Willie Hoevers, who is also making plans for the 20th anniversary of John Denver's death. Willie is also on Facebook. My wife Diane tells me she knows you from Facebook. We live up in Wisconsin.
