For the large amount of history that this building holds, it is a shame that the city won't allow tours of this place. Apparently, the only wat to see the place is to have tickets to a oerformance. Honestly, I would have paid a fee to tour it on an off day.

This 1889 Opera House has been wonderfully restored and kept up. It is absolutely gorgeous. We attended a concert here during the John Denver Week celebration, and the sound quality in this venue is excellent. There are no bad seats in the house, which we hear about a lot of venues, but in this case it is true. This is... More

This old hall was built when the town was beginning. Too bad today's instant electronic media has subverted the use of this old theatre, with lobby newly recently renovated. It seems that Aspen is degenerated into only a music town with theatre productions clearly secondary. Disappointed in the City's understanding of the performing arts being so myopic.

We have been to many wonderful performances at the Wheeler over the years that reflected the beauty of the theater and the spirit of the community. We were stunned by the recent opening of Ruin and Roses. It was billed as general admission only (very unusual) and when we arrived most of the house was reserved. About 10 minutes before... More

The Wheeler Opera House has been renovated since last year and the seats are considerably more comfortable than in the past. The great things about the Summer opera season is that the Aspen Music School produces these productions and they are first class. During the Summer , the school puts on three operas and they are a real treat.

Take a trip back in time when you walk into this theater. Been here a few times for different things, though the live taping for a Bravo tv show where they were showing the tu wong fu movie was pretty funny. I'll leave it at that. Everyone was very nice during all visits and I would recommend this theater as... More

I went here with my daughter (who is autistic) and while I loved it, she had a different opinion. The aisles are REALLY close together, and the theatre gets very loud. If you are going with someone with a fire-hazard fear, sit in the front row, or in one of the aisle seats. The service was very good.

We attended A Night of Queen at Wheeler Opera House. They have a nice bar and the staff is super-friendly. It is a pretty small house--not a bad seat.

I have seen several concerts here over the past couple of years. The venue is small and intimate and the acoustics are very good.
