I always enjoy frequenting the TECO Manatee Viewing Center when I get the chance to. Very educational, and I would definitely recommend this place for families with kids, for field trips, or just to visit in general.

I was amazed at the sheer number of Manatee's that frequent the warm waters of the power plant. TECO has done a good thing by providing the public with an informative viewing area. Many people would ever have the opportunity to see a manatee. It...More

This is the place to go to see a spectacular site of manatee's during their winter migration to the TECO discharge where they can escape the cold water to a more comfortable temperature. Also there are many more species of aquatic residents including sharks, tarpon...More

Visiting in winter seems to be best as the manatees are attracted by the warm water from the power station. Amazed to see over 60 manatees gathered together, some being groomed by smaller fish. Actually lost count of the number of them. The jumping rays...More

Unfortunately our trip was nearly April 15 and the water was way too warm, so we didn’t see manatees. However, we were able to see the stingrays get fed, very large fish and some black tip sharks. We also walked out onto the long pier....More

What an absolutely great place ... I question TECO's motives, but still, what a fantastic place to visit to learn about manatees, brackish water, fish, and birds. Besides seeing the mass of manatees attracted to the warm waters near the electric plant, there is also...More

This is a cool little place, great for kids and adults. Parking was a bit of a mess, the small lot was full so cars just had to drive in a circle until someone left. There's many activities here: a string ray pool, butterfly garden,...More
