The island is beautiful and you must walk the trail to see the boobies and frigate birds. Red Footed Boobies and Frigates and pretty cool. The bird house is nice to go up into and spend some time just watching. Bring your own lunch, there is no place to buy any food or drinks.

We dove this after the Blue Hole dive, and I think this was definitely my favorite dive in Belize and probably one of the top 5 I have done in the entire Caribbean. Very pretty reef structure, plenty of large fish, healthy reef fish population, and great visibility.

We visited for 4 nights in April 2016 with National Geographic. We were well cared for by the staff. Accommodations were pleasant, but not frilly. If you need creature comforts like air conditioning and running water, you will be disappointed (this is why I gave it 4/5 rating). If you go for the experience, you will probably want to stay... Don't waste your time, you'll be disappointed. First, they left w/o us. Set in sun waiting for them. Then they stuffed us in like sardeans. It was overloaded with people, you couldn't turn, or take pictures. Really, don't go. Employees were short tempered, un-friendly, and rude. Oh yea, the food was also bad.

What a great place. We camped here with Island Expeditions. The snorkeling was the best I've ever experienced. Lots of fun stuff to do and learn. Snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, and yoga in the morning. The food was great and meeting and getting to know the fellow campers was a much better experience then I expected. I loved it... More

We stopped here after the Blue hole dive for lunch and a nature walk. Wow what a pristine beautiful oasis!!! Make sure to climb the bird tower. So many beautiful birds!

Oh my GOD. We visited via Island Expeditions (B.C. Canada). After an overnight visit to Crooked Tree Lodge we found ourselves at the docks just outside of Belize City. We loaded up on an expertly captained 40 sea cruiser. Getting there was quite the ride - 55 miles east - 2.5 hours - we crossed "the blue" - about an... More

Do you ever dream about your (almost) private island, away from it all? This is your place, enjoy a quite island in the middle of the sea and relax, unwind and let is all go..... A place like paradise, with snorkel of dive opportunities around the coast of the island.

Multi-day travel packages with overnight stays at Lighthouse Reef Base Camp on Half Moon Caye can be booked through Island Expeditions, REI Adventures, or National Geographic Expeditions. My 4-night stay during the Christmas holiday break included 15 participants from REI Adventures and 8 participants from Island Expeditions. For the morning and afternoon activities, smaller sub-groups were formed for a more... More

We dove off of Half Moon Caye as our 2nd dive following the Great Blue Hole. Diving here was much better than the Blue Hole. Afterwards we ate lunch on the Caye and I did a nature walk. Saw iguanas and red footed booby birds. Nice and relaxing.
