If you're passing by Rio on the Pools, then you're hot and sticky. Water was refreshing, atmosphere relaxing. Can't go wrong to dive in. A beer would have made this stop, just that much better.

Some reviewers said to wear water shoes or Keens. I went barefoot. I don't think shoes would give a grip to save you from slipping on these rocks. By going barefoot, you can test/feel if there's a slippery spot or not. With each step, you...More

Our guide Adrian stopped at a lookout of the pools and we knew we were in for a wonderful, relaxing afternoon. The pools are a short easy hike from the road and we took along a picnic to enjoy beside the pools and falls. We...More

Rio On Pools was a nice place to cool off and relax after exploring Caracol. I wouldn't make the drive for the pools alone, but they were a nice addition to our trip to Caracol. We also made a stop at Big Rock Falls right...More

Just to echo other comments, it is very fun place to enjoy climbing around and splashing in the water. It isn’t worth the drive by itself but should be included in any itinerary to the Mountain Pine Reserve. There is a changing stall with walls...More

What a beautiful stop on the way through Pine Ridge while headed back from to Caracol! It was a rainy day in Cayo, so we didn't get to stop and picnic on a rock as I would have liked, but we wandered around in the...More

We rented a car in San Ignacio and made a day trip to Pine Ridge Mountain. We stopped at Big Rock Falls and then made our way to the pools. It is a beautiful place, great for just hanging out, having lunch and getting a...More

We drove here for a picnic and swim after visiting 1000 foot falls. This was AMAZING! Beautiful setting, refreshing water...everything you could want. As others have mentioned the rocks are very slippery (it's wet granite) so bring Keens or water shoes.

We stopped at the pools to eat lunch and swim after a visit to nearby caves. The pools were a beautiful place to swim - deep spots but not too deep, and warm running water cascading through multiple pools. We visited at a time of...More
