Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived at the map at the end of our trip and it gave us such a great perspective of our travels from Belize City to Guatemala City and the sites we visited in between. It's hard to believe it was created over 100 years ago and is so detailed with so many archeological sites known at the time. It really helped our 3 teens get the big picture of the Mayan ruins they had been visiting.

This outstanding map is the only one of it's kind in the world. Little is said about the engineer who did the majority of it's construction until now 100 years later. Engineer Don Claudio Urrutia who was born in 1857, was ask to build this map after setting the boundries and drawing the first official map and it's boundries of Guatemala. He left behind many documents that substantuate his claim. His daughter Neka McDonald , now nintyone years old is now bringing to life theses claims, so that her father will one day soon recieve the honors and recognition he has been intitled to for the last 100 years. On the 29th of October 0f this year there will be a dedication and ceremony in honor of this man and the others involved in the construction of this monumental effort. I am his very proud grandaughter.

As a traveler it's certainly worth a visit, even before starting travels w/in the country and as a complement to help map out your internal itinerary. It's an undermined resource, and the govt should do more to make it a must see attraction. Gives you an arial view of where you will be, and the natural complexities that have been conquered by man to get you from one point to another. Gives you an appreciation for the ancient Mayan civilization and how advanced they were to build and survive in remote places, at the time. Yet, develop such advance means of technology, farming, astrology, numerical exactitudes and more. To travel to these foreign nations and not emmerce one's self in the history nor appreciate the culture, is missing out on a complete foreign experience. Happy and save travels everyone. Un abrazo solidario a todo el mundo.

Guatemala City doesn't have many "must see" attractions -- especially with many museums closed by COVID. We visited the relief map while waiting for our departure test results and were pleasantly surprised. A fitting conclusion to our 3-week road trip around the country.

50 years to measure so accurately. The dedication to their journey is mind boggling.
It is worth a visit for an overview but you should have a guide to give the history and basic info

We visited here before travelling in the rest of the country. It is a good way to get a feel for the landscape. The sense of location stayed with me during our travels. Now that I have experienced some of the places for real I would like to go back to the relief map for a closer look. We didn't have or need a guide but I think it would be an even better experience to visit with someone knowledgeable about the geography.

This Relief Map is worth the trip, it makes you appreciate the nature of Guatemala, with its many valleys, rivers and volcanoes. Until you see it one doesn't realize how many volcanoes exist in Guatemala, one with a lake in the crater.

This map was built at the beginning of the 20th century. It shows all the geographical features of Guatemala at exact scale. It was made by engineers from the army. Is an incredible place.
