I cannot speak highly enough of Freedive Utila. I came after completing my beginner a year ago and wanting to refresh my skills and gain more confidence in the water. The team managed to balance my needs perfectly, I took a fun dive and two training sessions and fine tuned some skills alongside seeing the reef and local wreck. Lovely welcoming group of people, comfortable accommodation. A great few days.

freediving utila is an amazing place to learn how to freedive! they have vary positive and happy way of teaching, and they made me feel vary safe exploring this world for the first time! no depth requirements, all about the technique and safety, taking you stap by stap in your own pace.
I took the begginer & advance courses , and few fun dive in order to keep practice. Bryan was my instructor on both courses and he was perfect! everyone with ninja and chris are all aamazing and it was a pleasure freediving with them.
highly recommended! hope one day to come back to do the master course :)

Highly recommend the week-long beginners package! You get the 2.5 day course plus additional training dives, guided snorkelling session and 7 nights accommodation on-site. The course was thorough with good coverage of all the safety aspects and the practical sessions were great - lots of encouragement and advice but you never felt pressured to hit a certain depth. I’m really glad I did the full week as the additional sessions got me a lot more comfortable and allowed me to push a bit deeper and try different types of dives. Shimmying down on the snorkel session to hang out with an eagle ray was also pretty amazing and definitely not something I could have done before. The accommodation is really nice too. Thanks Chris, Ninja and Thibault!!!!!!!

Awesome freedive school, really good chill and friendly vibes. Responsible and caring instructors.
p.s. don't leave the island without trying Ninja's brownies and Bryan's cookies. Apart from good instructors they make the BEST pastries 🤤

I had an amazing experience at Freedive Utila doing the beginner course. It is a fantastic feeling to be able to dive deep without scuba tanks, and also a very fun skill to use while snorkeling. The course is well designed with two theory blocks and two mornings in the water, and a lot of time is spent on the safety aspects of the sport. The whole Freedive Utila crew is so friendly and welcoming, and Ninja lets you feel safe and at ease in the water. Definitely recommended !!

Couldn’t have asked for a better 3 weeks. Ninja, Chris, and Bryan were not only great instructors but made Utila feel like home. Extended my stay a week and plan on coming back in the future.

Just finished the beginner course with Freedive Utila and they were incredible from start to finish. I really wanted to go and do the advanced course but I just was caught for time, so I decided to do some coaching instead, which is a great option they have available, if you want to try improve the skills you have learnt on the course.

I would highly recommend Freedive Utila to anyone who might be thinking they would like to learn how to Freedive safely. The course will allow you to feel so much more comfortable under the water, increase the length of time you can be under the water and bring you to depths you never imagined you could reach.

I had no previous experience and now I really look forward to practicing some of these new skills while snorkelling. I also look forward to doing the advanced course sometime in the near future.

Thanks so much Emilie(Em), for being such an incredible instructor. I learnt so much and there is no way I could have achieved those depths without you. They also offer accommodation which looks super good and the vibe around the place is really nice and chill.

So many nice people including the owners Chris and Ninja (also amazing instructors) who are extremely friendly and accommodating in every way. While diving I got to see dolphins, a massive turtle and schools of fish all of which was so cool including free diving at the ship wreck.

I can’t recommend this company enough, they are very professional and friendly and Em the instructor was so patient and knowledgable. She made me feel safe and secure to get the best out of myself. I have some amazing videos of my dives and more important memories for life. I can’t wait to do it again.

Thanks Freedive Utila

My partner and I took the first level freediving course with Ninja and Brian — it was the BEST experience ever.

Booking the course was great as the staff was easy to communicate with and answered all our questions.

The course itself had so much interesting information and was really cool to see what the human body can achieve.

Brian and Ninja were amazing instructors. They were super knowledgeable and passionate about freediving. They were excellent coaches and made me feel very safe — from 21meters down all the way to the surface. Could not recommend them highly enough!
