Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Gertrude Herbert, housed in the historic, federal style Ware's Folly (c.1818) is so many things. It's a non-profit art school and gallery with outreach programs to the under-privileged and under-served. All of their revolving exhibits are not to my taste, although there's always something that intrigues me. Of course, it's worth a visit just to tour the magnificent house. In addition to the exhibits, the Institute offers numerous classes and workshops for young people and adults, most of which are held in the building next door, the Walker-Mackenzie Studio (c. 1909). The exhibit openings and gallery talks usually feature wine and hors d'oeuvres and are ways wonderful.

The Folly staircase is beautiful and the rooms a great showcase venue. The place is crumbling and grave need of repairs. The water damage is everywhere and the stone work and stucco are in bad shape . The urn our front is broken and the floors creek at every step. The outdoor handrail is a mess. This place needs everyone’s support to repair and restore this place to it’s previous glory.

Visited the reception and showing of the "Southern Observatory" art exhibit. Excellent exhibit, but the second floor was not visitor friendly. Narrow steps were not conclusive to young or older attendees.

What is art anymore. What people call art today is simply someone welding scrap iron together in no real shape or form. They stand it up, tack weld it, coat it, and call it art... Really?

Beautiful historical home exterior! The interior wood trim and staircase are amazing!

The home currently displays art on the second floor and displays a little art on the third floor.

Unfortunately, they are allowing the home to deteriorate. The third floor hosts art classes which is great; however, they make no effort to protect the original hardwood floors.

So great historical home architecturally!
Some good art pieces displayed and room for preservation.

Nice place to visit and see the restored Federalist house. It is an active art institute with a gallery you can tour during certain hours. Parking is on the street.

This has a wide selection of art that is rotated out year round but the building is in disrepair and needs a lot of work. No doubt it was stellar in its day. I hope maybe a historical registry or society of some sort can help them out.
There are classes offered and again art on display. Worth a stop just for the art but the outside art needs some help.
