My husband wants me to write a bad review for this beach so it would not become overcrowded. But there is no worries because they only give 35 passed per day for non- hotel guest. It was about a 10 minute drive for us and the first time we went we didn't get a pass and had to turn around... More

We went to Mauna Kea today. I was a little worried that we wouldn't get a parking spot (Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, got there at noon) based on previous reviews. But it wasn't a problem at all! Once we drove past the gate at Mauna Kea, the attendant gave us instructions to follow the road to the end. There were... More

You're on private property and they limit the number of cars coming in to visit the beach. Get there early. The sand is pale and fairly fine. The water is azure and turquoise. The feeling you get is sublime. Don't miss this beach if beaches are your thing.

We came here on a weekday in September, around 8AM, and had no difficulty getting one of the 35 parking spaces. It was really easy; just pull up to the booth and tell them you want to go to the beach. They explain how to get there. We spent most of the day here. Tried snorkeling, thought visibility wasn't great... More

Been here twice in November and December and rough ! Mainly only boogie boarders as water is too rough this time of year. Nobody in water from hotel and beach too swim as way too cool and rough this time of year Probably a superb beach, but not in Wintertime. Packed, hard sand and rougue waves in Winter

We have been coming here for 20 years andI am always amazed how stunning this place is. It is a bay which makes it easy for swimming and snorkeling. The water is crystal clear and the sand is smooth. Great place for a sunset

We didn't want to miss one sunset on the island. So we hit up the nearest/ best rated beach and this was really nice. You have to get let in by guard at gate. Just tell them your visiting the beach. We parked way at the end of the road in a parking lot designated for beach parking. We had... More

Husband and I love to snorkel. This was great sandy beach, easy in and out of surf(I have been knocked down and rolled around before). And not a long swim to the reef and fish. Perfect for us, and now favorite beach!

This is a private and beautiful beach, not to be missed if possible. It is a perfect spot for relaxation and drop dead gorgeous views.

Talcum powder sand that makes great sand sculptures and is easy on the feet, turquoise waters, good snorkeling on a calm day, body surfing and boogie boarding if it gets windier and rougher. Great for anyone who loves beaches and/or ocean swimming. Washrooms and outside showers just up from the beach, also some trees for shade back from the beach.... More
