We saved the best for last and our group of friends booked the sunset ride on our last night in Kona. We were outfitted with boots, coats and helmuts before getting a brief but useful intro to our horses. Our guides were excellent - courteous and engaged, professionals with good hearts and a love for their horses and the landscapes.... More

Our group went for the sunset ride. First of all the drive up is very scenic and the ranch itself is nothing short of impressive. All the staff were great to work with and very accommodating. They matched horses to rider ability and you can tell the horse are well cared for. We had a fantastic ride.

Wranglers did a great job, great sense of humor. Know their animals well. Horses were well trained and will keep you safe. Not a lot of trotting or loping, but some of you are up to it.

We reserved the picnic ride, our ride group only had one other couple and with two mavericks -- Gary and Becca, we had a great ride. Gary allowed us to both trot and canter at specific locations, which along with the scenery and company made for a fun adventure. I would recommend Paniolo Adventures to everyone.

I went with a colleague for the sunset ride. They have a wonderful selection of anything you need to be comfortable on this ride- from boots to jackets and helmets, it was a great start. Karina gave us a thorough run down on the ride and the horses. We felt prepared and well looked after from the start. Our horses... More

We had a fantastic day riding in beautiful Waimea range county with Paniolo Adventures. Their horses are lovingly taken care of, the groups are small and yes, there is trotting and cantering. This is a must experience.

We did a family ride and really loved it- open grassy range as far as the eye could see. Was a really great experience. I believe our guide was named Corina and she was fantastic, especially in watching out for our kids, who were a bit nervous about the ride. A great place to go, even if your kids, or... More

As novice riders, we were matched up with our skill level. My sons got 5 year old horses while my husband and I got 10 year old horses. 3 opportunities to cantor/gallop while on the ride. We didn't have to stick to trail riding as long as we kept up with group. Nicely paced. Guides are very friendly and love... More

This was our first time horseback riding and we didn't feel silly at all. Our guide was AMAZING and the horses were perfect for us! The views on the sunset ride were breathtaking. It was a little misty and rainy which gave us a beautiful rainbow to see during the ride!

We have a second home on the Big Island and through the years, taking friends and family to horseback ride with Paniolo Adventures never disappoints. The location itself is just stunning. Set 3000' above the sea level, the views are magnificent. We just went a few days ago for the sunset ride and we had views all the ways to... More
