Nice scenic pit stop on your way to your final destination. You aren’t too close to the falls, and these are pretty small compared to like Wailua Falls, but still picturesque. The parking can get challenging and the rest area bathroom is surprisingly good.

Opaekaa Falls is a popular stopping point for the cruise ship excursions, as I did two trips on our two days in Kauai and both of them stopped here. Opaekaa translates as rolling shrimp, although I never saw any shrimp rolling on my two visits...More

The falls are a stunning view as are the views from across the road of River and mountains. There is ample parking if you are driving, and this stop may be part of your bus tour if you are taking a tour. This stop is.near...More

During early August, my wife and I drove up to Opaeka'a Falls. There had been some recent rain and the falls were flowing nicely. We like to check out the beautiful falls from the overlook viewing area each trip to Kauai. Great place for pictures....More

The falls are just spectacular it can be clear. Muddy. Huge. Split. Loud. White. Serene. Rainy. Rainbows. And more. Just standing there watching millions of gallons of water roar off the cliff and knowing the falls never stop is just an amazing sign of nature...More

The Opaekaa Fall scenic overlook is well worth the stop. It is only about 2 miles up highway 580 from the main road highway 56. Always seems to be parking available when we drive by. The overlook for the falls is right next to the...More

After we left while Leah falls we continued along on the road and found the sign for these waterfalls. You park in designated parking lot bigger than the one for Wailua, and walk up the path to the overpass. Easy walk and view☺️

We visited on a rainy morning. It was actually perfect for us (with kid in tow) as we didn’t have to walk much in the rain and got to see something pretty. Yes it is far away but we were not in a position to...More

This waterfall is beautiful. It's farther away then you think, and left a lot to be desired. Also a hot spot for large tourist buses and it gets crowded fast. Hit or miss. DO: go across the street to the lookout over the river valley...More

This was one of a few stops on our "waterfall day". Although the falls are not as close as others on the island, the surrounding area is lush and serene and there is plenty of parking.
