Great beach, good snorkeling. Had a very nice time here. I was able to see a lot of fish and some good amounts of coral. I even saw a small white tip reef shark chilling on the bottom out by the end of the point.

We went here upon recommendations saying this was a great snorkel spot. It was average at best. If you do snorkel, you have to go out fairly far due to visibility issues. Also, there are no showers (we read otherwise) other than the rinsing outdoor...More

This is a great area to enjoy a day away from Maui. We took the ferry ride over to explore the island for $60 return. They have a washroom facility, picnic tables and plenty of areas to get shade from the unforgiving sun. Normally this...More

This beach is the primary reason we come to Lanai. It is drop-dead beautiful and the coral on the entire left side of the bay is incredible. Swim deep for even greater coral. We have been to all the islands and this beach (and snorkeling...More

A great beach to bring your kids. No lifeguard on duty so be aware of wave and current conditions. When in doubt, don't go out.

This is a public beach and an easy walk (two minutes tops) from the Four Seasons Resort. The resort has towels and chairs available to its guests at the beach. It was never crowded and a perfect place to watch the sun set!

Great Visibility for snorkeling. All kinds of colorful fish. Best is left side of beach. Tide pools are fun to look at too. Ferry from Lahaina was worth the trip. Walking distance from ferry harbor. Small store at harbor for snacks. No food to purchase...More

Saw schools of colorful fish while snorkeling near the rocks on the left side (as you look from the shore). Plenty of parking, picnic tables, shade, showers, and toilets. A stone's throw from the ferry dock.

I took the ferry ($60 round trip) from Lahaina to Lanai as a day trip. In whale season (nov. 15 to March 31) this is also a whale watch opportunity so have your cameras ready! The beach is just a short walk from where the...More

One review mentioned bbq grills available at the beach. I'm assuming they're charcoal briquettes type ones.... anyone know if you can buy that on lanai or do we need to bring them from Maui?

There's a market in Lanai City (Richard's Market). (808) 565-3781. You can call them and ask if they have charcoal briquettes. The bigger issue is how you're going to get to Lanai City to buy them.
How do you get camping permits?

I'm not allowed to post website links (Thanks a ton, Tripadvisor), so all I can tell you is to type this into your Google search box: "hulopoe beach camping permit". The first result you get is the website called... More

Super easy! Get off the ferry, look to your left and you will see a little sign that points to the right and says "Beach". Follow that sign and when the road forks, keep to the left. That will take you to Hulopoe Beach... More
