Thanks to the limited parking, the beach will never be crowded, it's mostly people staying within walking distance. Great waves for body surfing. Clear water, great sand, it doesn't get any better than this

Part of the road to Hana attractions and SO amazing. There's barely anyone there, the locals come out and play, the water is a gorgeous light blue, the waves are rigorous so you should know how to swim. Loved boogie boarding here until I got...More

I first went to this beach in 2002; I went back in 2005; and I just went back in 2015. I LOVE it. It is my favorite beach all time. Walking, boogie boarding, watching surfers, watching people, relaxing, snorkling -- it has it all and...More

This beach was sparsely populated and gorgeous. I don't agree about the bathroom being difficult to access with small children. There are a lot of stairs down to the beach but we didnt have a problem. Parking off the road wasnt too tricky either. We...More

We stumbled on to this stop after making it to Hana by 1:30 and wanting to find a less crowded beach spot then the very busy black sand beach we left. I found this place in a local guidebook and it didn't disappoint. If you...More

I'd been told about this 'locals only' beach. It was our last spot to visit before heading back on the road to Hana. It's a gem of a beach. You park up on the road and there's a paved walkway down to the sand. There's...More

We went to Hamoa Beach on a Sunday morning to watch the sunrise (around 6 AM). It was a rather cloudy day so we didn't really get to see a nice sunrise, but we loved the beach and the solitude that we had for the...More

This beach is a gem. There is a cove of rocks so it is generally smaller waves making great swimming and boogie boarding. Just be wary for waves can smash you on the bottom of ocean so know your ocean. This beach has bathrooms and...More

OK beach but I just don't see how folks think this is the best beach on Maui. Bathroom was scary. Tough climb down (for the old or very young). Extremely limited parking. Glad I saw it, but I'll take my other favorites.

Stopped along our Road to Hana adventure - kids loved bodysurfing! They brought a GoPro out in the water with them - the visibility was incredible!
