Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not a lot of places to go, but this one little shop had a lot of handmade items and we were looking for something made on the island not in China. The store owner knew the artists that had work there and several caught our eye, but were a few hundred dollars. We saw this one wood carved boat, but it was $200. She noticed us looking and suggested another artist that has now retired, but had one similar for $69 dollars. We were sold. The more expensive one had the details and was to scale, but the one we bought was beautiful and knowing the 96 year old artist is now retired gave it a story. She gave us information on the materials used as well as the artists name.

I nice collection of shops and cafes in this North Shore village. Be sure to give the Breakers a try. The food was good, the prices very reasonable and the service was excellent. My family was here in Oct., 2004 and we all enjoyed our meals. I tried the fish and chips which was fresh mahi-mahi hand battered and prepared to oder. The fries were made from fresh sliced potatoes and cooked to perfection. If you're interested in surfing lessons be sure to stop by and see Edison de Paula, owner of Surf Hawaii 4 U, located in the market place as well (808-295-1241). My 9 year old son took private lessons from Edison and he was up and surfing in no time. Edison was great and I highly recommend him. surfhawaii4u

While this a cute little town with the small cozy vibe it’s deceiving. Several business owners have contracted with a company to tow vehicles of tourist. Doesn’t matter if you shopped at the business and spent money or not. We were standing in the parking lot when they hooked up our car. They almost ran over my husband and threatened me. $250 later we got our vehicle back. BUT we were one of a dozen within a hour. There are too many options of cute little towns , save your money and your time and avoid this one. Speed traps are illegal and so is this scam. Sad that some of the business owners in this town are treating tourist so badly.

A shopping area that, primarily, caters to tourists. There are 4 restuarants, a Gelato shop, a coffee shop, souvenir shops, clothing and jewelry shops...something for everyone.

There are restaurants, rest rooms and a few shops here. On our Friday evening visit there was a good vibe and friendly ambiance.

Several cute shops, eateries, and a great gelato store make the town of Haleiwa, the perfect place to stop, kick back, and take a break, especially if you are driving completely around the island. Yes, the usual tourist shirt shacks and knick knacks, but also some great art galleries, and several good spots to refresh over a soda, beer, or ice cream.

Nice variety of shops, from touristy souvenirs to high end shops, a good mix for every taste. Not exactly the Ala Moana Center but a fun place to visit. This is nothing like Honolulu, but a laid back surfing/artist type of town

went to Breakers for breakfast twice this week.
We heard mixed reviews about them and I have nothing to complain about.
It was quiet in the morning, we had friendly service both times, nice simple breakfast sandwich to start off the day right. Recommend this place to anyone saying in the North shore!

We went to Breakers last night. Food very good, very good service and live music which was very "Ben Harper" - minus vocals. 4 kids and 4 adults very happy! Also very reasonably priced.
