Amazing place. Mighty old buildings, winding narrow streets, amazing courtyard houses. Some well kept, some run down. Algerians have a tough job in protecting this UNESCO World Heritage Site. But surely they are trying.

A symbol of traditional and authentic Algiers (and of the war against France from 1954-1962) with narrow streets on a hill, dead wall houses, very old mosques. The most of the houses need renovation.

If you visit Alger, you must spend 3h to visit the Kasbah in the capital. Known for the resistance during the 1960's before the independence. Also known for the wonderful architecture of the houses and the small streets :) The best way to visit Kasbah...More

My guide was Omar. Great guy. Phone or WhatsApp or Viber ‭00213 5 42840682‬ He’s pretty good at answering pretty quickly. The weekend has just started there though. I really enjoyed Algeria, hope you do too.
