Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I saw a vile man pick a cat up and put in a plastic crate box and then put another crate on
top of it weighed down with bricks so it couldn’t get out.
I saw him get the cat by the neck when I walked past but he prenteded to stroke it , I looked back and that’s when I saw him do it !
I marched over removed the crate and bricks and let it out , it was frantic . I called him some choice words , he ran back in his shop , then I saw kids tormenting puppies on the beach throwing sand in there eyes and trying to grab them when they was hiding .
I’ve loved travelling around as you don’t see it as much but I’m done with these awful people .who do this to animals ,I did not like Tagazhout

Nice small town with street food in the evening and good waves for surfing. Climate is mild and a perfect place for chill

We have just visited Tagazout town and bay. It was very disappointing - I have never seen so much dog muck and plastic litter. Considering this is a surf town, the lack of respect for the beach with all the plastic bottle tops and litter was unbelievable. We won't be returning 😔

This is a massive expanse of beach. Very popular with surfers. There is also a walkway following the line of the beach for a few kilometres. This is directly in front of many new apartments and villas and large 4 and 5 star resort hotels. The beach is so huge it never seems crowded or too busy. A little disappointing there are a few areas of rubble that remain. There are beach dogs who are very friendly and enjoy a snack ! They are adorable. They are not a problem at all. There are now horse and camel riding activities. Quad bikes and water sports too. Also sun beds for rental. It does lack any cafe and there is just one kiosk selling soft drinks and packeted snacks. Most of the hotels are all inclusive and so maybe a cafe is not sustainable just yet ? Very sandy. Gently shelving into the Atlantic. There are some great waves a short distance out - hence all the surfer dudes.

I love this place. Atmosphere, not long or big beach with many people. Early mlrning you can see fishermen coming from the sea with fish. You can buy theese fish. Good place for surfing, relax. Good restaurants and more intimate atmosphere like in Agadir city.

Hi all! I have just returned from spending a few days surfing in the area of Taghazout. Despite being a bit afraid after reading all the comments regarding Taghazout belly, I have to say that neither me or my partner got ill. I noticed that most of the hostels have shared bathrooms, so it is extremely important to use your own towels and keep everything clean. In addition, we ensured to drink bottled water and avoid raw food (including salads). With that, you'll be fine and will enjoy your stay!

Good massage by the public quiet beach. I have been hotel Riu taghazout for a week in mid September, been to their spa, don't expect moroccan hammam as like the Turkish as they didn't include the bubble massage instead after full exfoliation they put mud n keep washing you. I think I can do that myself. So I came across this girl who can massage by the beach, she charges 100dhs to 130dhs (bet £8-£10) an hour coming to taghazout beach to massage you. Best is to meet her close to the security gate by the hotel on the beach side otherwise can be difficult as hotel security not allowed any unauthorised outsiders at all. I booked her everyday for 2 hours massage. So for £20 for 2 hrs and in the hotel they charged at 700dhs(£60)an hour for deep tissue.
My hand been a problem and she massage heavily basically everyday and the numbness on my arms and fingers has gone now. Anyone who is interested may contact her at +212 697-512215. You may check if she goes to agadir. Good luck

Are people reporting this to the holiday companies as I called mine and they had no idea of the illness issue In Taghazout even though tripadvisor is flooded with reports?
How far away from Taghazout do you need to be to remain safe?
5km?

Travel companies…? I always organise my travels myself.
Last time (2018 august) everything was alright with me and my travel companion – but we went in the water only at Anza which is quite far south of Taghazout.

We are there now, no sign of any beach fishing, but I don’t see why you couldn’t walk a little way along.
Hallo,
