Visited when we were in Fez and this was the second medersa I wanted to see after Bou Inania. Sadly the weather wasn't great, and the terrace was not open - would have had a view of the Kairaouine mosque and medina, if so. The...More

A good place for the tourist to spend time. A pretty well designed building. Use a guide otherwise you waste time.

Inside the medina, this medersa is possibly the most beautiful and interesting building to visit. It's also a calm oasis inside the craziness of the walled city. There is a fee of MD20 to visit (about $US2) but it's well worth it. Cash only.

If you miss Ali Ben Youssef in Marrakech, you could find something similar here. We had a good guide explaining all the artwork, archtecture and background of the college which was very impressive.

Medersa are scattered throughout the Medina but this is the only one you can enter. A guide is recommended to understand the dramatic changes in Islamic educational customs from the time of this construction to the present.

Very nice architecture. The designs are almost identical to Bou Inania but this building is smaller in size. You may want to give this a miss if you have already visited Bou Inania.

It's pretty and the artistry is well done. However, once you see this one, you won't need to visit any others in Morocco. They all look the same and generally don't have any history behind them. Cheap to get in though.....20 dhms.

We loved visiting this amazing place. We has an excellent Moroccan tour guide who is an expert in history, architecture, culture, math and science. He pointed out the symbolism in patterns, design, colors and numbers. Mind-blowing!

I have visited many historical buildings in Fes and other Morocco medinas and I found Attarin Medersa is the best in design and maintenance.
