Even beyond its best days, this is a priceless one stop shop visit, as much for the Shona sculptures, as for the wide variety of basketry/books/ women entrepreneurs etc visible. Friendly staff with play area as well.

I'm not a shopper, so it's difficult for me to rate a shopping place. It looks like a lot of the shops have closed down. There were only about 5 or 6 shops when I was there. The thing that is nice about this place...More

Doon Estate used to be a bustling, vibrant hub for local arts and crafts. Sadly, it is a shadow of its former glory. According to a shop assistant, the decline is due to the closure of a restaurant which had attracted shoppers. However, this cannot...More

Sadly, the place has really gone down now and there is not much to see. The Estate used to be full of lovely items for sale and made for a fun morning but I found it rather dead last visit. A great shame.

I had been told this was once a bustling shopping area where local crafts were sold at reasonable prices. There are several shops selling a variety of items ranging from Buddhist statues to hand carved curiosities. I bought several small gifts here that were pretty...More

Fairly large shopping area with many small shops (15+ ?)scattered around a central courtyard. Some shops contain the usual tourist gak, but others have some more unusual items that are interesting. There is one gallery on the site which is stellar - some old items,...More
