Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I love visiting the forest because it reminds me of home. It is cooler (shade trees and humidity) and there are always leaves to crunch through on a walk! It is quiet and peaceful. There are often love birds sitting around in the shade! Cute!
It is not open on Mondays. The fee to enter is 100cfa for adults, if you are an expat.

Somewhere to jog or walk with various sportsfields, the occasional sighting of peacocks, crocodiles, squirrels, brilliantly-plumed birds, and butterflies in season - it's an unusual and appreciated haven in this part of the world. Rainy season tracks can be muddy or watery. Not open Mondays unless a public holiday. Dogs allowed on a leash. Pay at one of the official entrances. Cameras not allowed unless pay a hefty fee beforehand.

I went here several times with a friend to walk--there are many paths here and it would be a good place for a picnic and a place just to get a way and listen to the sounds of the birds, or look for crocodiles in the dry season. Although once the sacred forest, today it could be better maintained as unfortunate signs of modernity have crept in--the signs are rusting out, there is litter in many of the more frequented sections, but it serves as a good get-away for joggers, walkers, bike riders, etc. from the hubbub of the city. There is a snack bar near the entrance, with wifi available, along with a 100cfa entrance fee for foreigners.

Lived 5 blocks from the park for nearly 3 years and loved to go jogging up there, especially in the rainy season when the trees fill in. Nice place to go see the crocodiles in the dry season (harder to find in the rainy season) and even peacocks. For an urban public park in West Africa, it's very clean and well maintained, complete with trash cans and concrete benches. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to visit, but if you're staying in Zone du Bois or Zogona, it's a nice walk.

Ouagadougou is a very busy city and you just need a place to get away sometimes. You can go to this park and find a place to rest, play games and enjoy nature. Sweet repose in the middle of 3 million bustling people.

I had a wicked time while visiting an old friend and we went to the park. What amazed me was that the park was brought to life not only by the expanses of trees and shrubs, but by people dancing with boom boxes in the forest. It was really cool to see crocs up close in the ponds as well. Really fun time and great to explore.
Oh, and there was also a museum beside the park that was pretty decent- I think it was for school groups, but I still found it really interesting- lots of taxidermy'd animals, very educational.

The park is a gem of nature. Many bird species, including African green parrot, African hornbill, and the critically endangered hooded vulture. Wonderful trails for walking or bike riding.

Bangr weogo is probably the best place to go if you want to chill while in ouaga. I usually went there early mornings (it opens at around 8 I think) and brought breakfast with me. In the middle of the park there are crocodiles swimming in a tiny lake (no fence!!). They are not dangerous and really fun to watch. In the evenings the park is full of people exercising so not quite as calm but still worth a visit since that's when the bats leave their homes and start searching food. Many thousands, they almost cover the sky!

Although not particularly well maintained its a nice place to go for an hour or so. It's located a short walk from the city centre. We paid 200CFA to get in although there are additional costs if you want to go into the botanical garden or the zoo.
In terms of wildlife we saw a crocodile in the river.
Many cities around the world have some wonderful green spaces (London, Sofia, Chisinau, San Diego) - I would not add Ouagadougou's Parc Urbain Bangr Weogo on that list. It is however a pleasant way to spend an afternoon and is worth a visit if staying in Ouagadougou.
