I booked a 2.5 week trip through ETT. I left everything in the capable hands of Muna at ETT head office. Muna was extremely helpful in answering any question I had. The tours themselves where very professionally arranged and I did not feel unsafe at...More

I’d seen all the negative reviews of ETT and vowed not to use them but unfortunately as I booked through a middle man - who you must never use, his name is Peter and he seems to be the main tour organiser in Gondar (he’d...More

We started from Mekele, we were 4 in the jeep (plenty of space) and 5 cars in total. Our driver "Tamru / Tame" was very professional and services oriented. He worked in the past year with scientists and was knowledgeable about geology (which is an...More

ETT travel I found ETT by reading travel blogs from other tourists. They were mentioned so often they seemed the obvious choice. I think we made a great choice booking with them. From the website there wasn’t a trip that fitted our time. So I...More

Having traveled for 5 years in Africa I have used many tour operators and have never come across such incompetence. Myself and three friends booked a 2 night, 3 days tour in the Danakil Depression with Erta Ale hike. What Went Wrong... - They forgot...More

We did the 3-day Danakil tour, but it could easily have been done in two days, which was what I had requested originally. The guide was not quite sympathetic. He was late the first day and then kept rushing us throughout the trip due to...More

We went on a three day tour with ETT. Overall what we saw was brilliant-amazing scenery of the hydrothermal fields, salt flats and the volcano. What disgusted me and many others on the tour is ETTs total lack of concern for waste management. The whole...More

We joined the 4 day Danakil Tour with ETT believing we would experience great service from what is the leading operator in the business. We were wrong. Instead, we were dumped back in Mekele, dumbstruck by what had happened over the 4 days. How could...More

Hello, about 3 hours and this is enough, if you want you can be there for a little bit longer. Don’t forget it is very hot place! But also also very interesting. The whole experience is amazing.
This Casie Martin wrote on TA After reading reviews in places I was surprised at how false those were. ETT was amazingly run!! I had originally planned to go with worldsun Ethipoia travel and they cancelled the day before. I emailed ETT and they organized everything perfectly and for a great price too. I landed into Mekele airport and they were awaiting for my arrival and took me to their office to meet the others for the tour. There were 21 of us in total and 4 of us inside a Jeep (comfortable with air con) also or driver. My driver Wondmagegn was INCREDIBLE!!!! The tour I went on was 3 days and 2 night Danakil depression. It was more than what I expected. I had heard that the food was average but it was actually great! I advise you to take some snacks for in between. I was glad I did! Sleeping is basic and exactly what they state. Take your own sleeping bag or a liner. On the trip we visited the salt miners (Afar people) and after reading forums I decided to take donations with me such as sunglasses, eye drops, gloves for the men. Also stickers, toys and stationary for the children along the way. Others on the tour said they wish they had known to bring donations as I was the only one so please consider this! A huge thank you for all the drivers and guides and also the ladies in the office. Everyone was so so sweet, kind and helpful!
