Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

(NOTE: This tour was in 2018. Tripadvisor only allowed me to date this review back to 2021, so I chose the month traveled.)
When my husband, cousin, and I traveled to Ghana in 2018, for our "Atonement Pilgrimage Tour", little did I know that our lives would forever be transformed. The emotional connection to the Motherland was absolutely expected, but we could have never dreamed how extraordinary our guide Mensah and Obuomo Link Tours would be. They were not just a guide and a tour company--they were like family.🥰 Impeccable planning, including the lodging, food, and itinerary all made for a life-changing experience. Where do I begin? Every day afforded us a new insight into our history and people, and Mensah, his company and staff, left nothing to chance. Journeys to both Elmina and Cape Coast dungeons, the Naming Ceremony in Salaga, the Assin Manso Slave River Site, the bustling city of Accra, as well as the rural villages, the warmth of the African people, the deep conversations with Mensah, and so much more are forever planted in my soul. Since 2018, Mensah, who I now call my nephew, and I have continued to communicate on Whatsapp sharing special events in our lives--births of children, birthdays, and more. Thank you from the bottom of my heart--Obuomo Link Tours, our driver Francis, and of course, to my nephew Mensah, for our life-altering experience in Ghana.

Ghana is a beautiful country full of beautiful people. We’ve been there twice, both times led by Adjekwei Mensah from Obuomo. Obuomo Link Tours is THE way to visit Ghana.

Extensive knowledge of historical events and contexts. Mensa was very accommodating and affordable. And his English was perfect.

I have traveled four continents and can confirm that you will not find a better tour operator than the owner of Obuomo Link Tours. George Adjekwei Mensah (“Mensah”) is absolutely the most knowledgeable tour operator/guide that I have encountered. What I found most impressive was the span of his knowledge, which extends far beyond the African continent. Many tour operators are quite knowledgeable in matters pertaining to their specific areas, but Mensah is so dedicated to tourism and giving the absolute best that he has gone above and beyond to study world history in general. His ability to retrieve relevant worldwide facts when asked random questions is simply astonishing. Your tour with Mensah as your guide will make your experience much more than you imagined. From the Ghanaian markets to the day trips to the horrid dungeons to other sites of historical significance - you cannot and will not go wrong with Obuomo Link Tours.

There are too many amazing parts of this trip to just list one. Mensah is an excellent guide with exceptional people skills. He was not only our guide with incredible knowledge of all of the places that we visited, he also meshed seamlessly with our group and became a lifelong friend to all on the tour. I highly recommend Obuomo Link Tours and Mensah as your guide as you explore Ghana.

I have only amazing things to say about our trip to Ghana. Mensah's knowledge of the history of Ghana and the Transatlantic Slave route and history is superior. I not only had fun on this trip, but I was also educated and enlightened.

Had a brilliant tour of Elimina Castle by Mensah. The transportation from Accra to the site was smooth and luxury. Our tour Mensah was very courteous, informative and friendly. I'd be happy to recommend this company in the future.

We went to the street market where we got to shop and barter first hand with the locals. They have so much talent there it is amazing. I would recommend anyone that goes pick up some artwork.

We were thought a lesson of what our ancestors experienced during the transatlantic slave trade at Cape Coast. What I was transfixed on is learning history from those in Africa.

We were taken to the beaches that have the softest sand and the most scenic views.

I couldn't thank Obuomo Link Tours enough for welcoming us to the motherland and teaching us our history. They are more than just tour guides but walking historians of Ghana.

I recommend that use their services. You definitely wont regret it
