This small lake (set in an extinct volcano) is the location for a series of temples, statues and alters (including the 115 foot tall Shri Mangal Mahadev statue). If you aren't particularly religious then it may, at first sight, not hold much of an attraction for you but you'd be wrong to miss this off your itinerary. It's a very... More

This was the most interesting place i visited in Mauritius. Just the drive to get there is worth it, beautifull landscapes and nature. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, you can also be blessed here. Worth a visit but extremely busy with tourists, some locals were trying to pray but could barley make it through the hoards of tourits, please be mindful of them.

The temple is worth a visit and I quite enjoyed it. It was quite peaceful and clean. There are a few temples around the crater lake, I visited just the main one and walked around the lake to the other side as well. I do suggest a guide for non Hindu people so that you can understand.

Amongst the largest Shiva statue I have seen. There is temple, pond and shiva statue all in nearby compounds. We didn't spend much time here (15 minutes).

This is one of the reasons I was keen to come to Mauritius. The huge Lord Shiva statue is magnificent. It was love at first sight. The beautiful bronze statue is a must to visit. Near by there is a temple with various Hindu Gods which is also great to visit.

This is a very sacred place. It is in a beautiful spot. The lake has no known depth as it is a volcanic crater. The different temples all have separate meanings. Climb to the highest one-The view is breath taking. The wild monkeys are pretty entertaining as well. The statutes are exquisite. Beautiful colors. You can take in the beauty... More
