Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

situated barely 15 mins from the airport one has to navigate through dirt roads through sugar cane fields. but the journey is entirely worth it. beautiful blue waters with huge waves crash against this rugged fort like natural rock formation creating massive plumes of spray.
the natural bridge is a lovely site.
one has the option of visiting on quad bikes or atvs

What a place!
Magical is probably the closest word that describes it.
As other reviews have said, getting there is a bit tough and roads convoluted, but totally worth it if you have the time and confident managing dirt roads.
We took a local trail to walk there which was organised by our hotel that took us through beautiful greenery, beaches and sugar cane fields.
You can spend as much time as you like exploring beyond the bridge and the immediate photo opportunities. The cliffs go on for miles and miles.
But it's isolated and people have reported of their cars being broken into etc., So maybe take all your valuables with you when you leave the car.
Apart from that it felt safe when walking around.
There are some stray dogs that live there so if you love animals be prepared to see them. Unlike in a previous review the dogs are not emaciated now as they are probably getting fed regularly by kind locals?
They keep to themselves as they do seem to know to stay away from people and if you decide to feed them, best to do it closer to where they are snoozing so that they don't get too comfortable with tourists and compromise their safety when they encounter people who won't like them, which I'm guessing is quite regularly. ☹️

The name means "Natural Bridge" and it's exactly that: a bridge which has been formed from the volcanic rocks be the force of the crashing waves. This site is really off the beaten path and you need to drive through some private unpaved sugar cane fields to get there. There are some handmade signs along the way to guide you. There are also some very old stone chimney stacks which were used in the production on sugar.
Once there, you really notice that the terrain is vastly different from the other parts of the island. There is no sand. This part of the coast is the youngest and it shows. The volcanic rocks are broken up and still very much as if they had just hardened.
There is no reef to calm the waters here, so the waves are very rough, making it impossible for swimming. If you have the nerve, please do walk onto the bridge, as it makes a great photo!
All in all, this is a perfect place to go to experience a different side of the island.

Whilst on holiday, my husband and I decided to visit this place but I was too upset and traumatised to visit the actual bridge itself as there were so many stray dogs and puppies around the car park area. It was heartbreaking to see them all so emaciated and desperate for food and water. A really lovely guy named Oumesh turned up and started feeding and pouring water for them in plastic containers. I asked how could I help to support him and was told that there are a small group of people that pool their own money together to buy and cook food as well as provide fresh water for these dogs. I just can’t believe that no other rescue centre on the island are aware of the dire situation of these starving dogs in this area or willing to help them!! What’s worse is that this team of people paid for some metal containers for the dogs to drink from… only to find on their return that they had all been stolen!!! What kind of people would steal from starving dogs?!!! On my return to the UK I will be asking friends and family to contribute on a regular basis to help this group of amazing people. Please contact (Arjun on 57089890 if you are able to help in any way… Thank you for taking the time to read this review 🙏🏽🐕🙏🏽

Very hard to reach this bridge, through a good 10/15 minutes rides in between sugar cane fields.
But as usual, after the difficult part it comes the reward, which is spectacular views!

We went here on a whim as we were driving back from elsewhere. I have to say it was worth it although you will miss it if not careful. To do this drive in a Hyundai i10 is interesting to say the least but also really good fun. The views when you arrive are spectacular but I think the drive is just as much fun

You have to drive through a super bumpy sugar cane field to arrive at this tourist spot which exist because of volcano activity. I like it as a natural wonder, but the travelling was too tiresome and nauseating. Also there are way too many tourists

This is a beautiful natural phenomenon on the wild south coast of Mauritius. It is tricky to get to a a 4x4 is desirable as you have to drive 3kms through sugar cane fields. The way to get there is via the village of Trois Boutiques and follow the signs. Note the signs are only visible if travelling from the airport direction!
But once you are there is is spectacular. If you are brave enough, cross the bridge but it can be slippery.
Otherwise just admire the sounds of waves crashing across the rocks. This really is a must see!

Can this place be visited with a 17 months old infant and 2 senior citizen (65 years)?

Would be a little tricky if you cannot walk over uneven terrain. If everyone is in good walking health and steady on their feet then you should be OK but beware the drive!
